The Devil`s Racecourse The Devil`s Racecourse is a massive boulder field sitting in the middle of a dense forest. An underground river flows beneath it. It`s located adjacent to a side trail off the Appalacian trail near Harrisburg,PA.
Smiley`s doglight When we hike at night, be it around the neighborhood or along the trail,I attach a bike light either to Smiley`s collar orto his dogpack in order to keep track of him. Plus it just looks neat! This was night 4 of our Nov 2006 Appalacian trail hike. Nov 2,2006.
Peters Mt Shelter This is one of the nicer trail shelters located on the Appalacian Trail on Peters Mountain,about 6.5 miles south of PA rt 325. Nov 1 2006.
Campsite 3 Peters Mt On the 3rd night of our Appalacian Trail hike,Smiley and I camped atop Peters Mt. A cold front came thru overnite with rain and the next morning was windy and much cooler. Our hike lasted from Mon Oct 30 thru Fri Nov 3 2006.
The General The General is a large shovel type of heavy equiptment on caterpillar treads. It sits in the remote woods adjacent to the Appalacian Trail in the Stony Creek valley area near Harrisburg,PA. Smiley and I hiked a side trail to reach it. Nov 3 2006.
