Small, friendly, personal

My mom has been buying all my food from here for the past year, and they are so great! Debbie always remembers me, knows what my favorite treats are, and helps my mom pick good treats and food. My mom works weird hours and once ran out of food but couldn't get to the store until right after closing. She called and Debbie had the food bagged and ready to go, and stayed there til my mom could get there. My mom doesn't go anywhere else anymore.

Best place for a bath in town!

So many good things to say about this place. The groomer is really nice, very knowledgeable and really good with all dogs. Our first experience was being left there with the groomer for a "Furminator" treatment - which included a bath, nail clip, ear cleaning and all of that plus the Furminator shampoo and undercoat treatment. I looked at least 5 pounds lighter after the treatment, but still had my nice top coat and coloring. Xena lost so much hair around her ruff that I had to tighten her collar!!! About two weeks later we went back for a self-service bath. I took some of my own brushes and my Kong Zoom Groom (if you don't have a Kong Zoom Groom, get one now!!!). Just having the raised tubs, with high walls and the mesh stand, was worth the bath charge. They had leashes in the tubs ready to go. The sprayer is great!!!! Not too much, not too little. It is a huge improvement from the bathtub or the sink in terms of the human back! There isn't a strict time limit for using the bathing area. I can just pick Xena up for the tub, but there was a Great Pyranese/St. Bernard mix and the steps were great! It took us about 45 minutes from sign-in to complete payment. They have some great shampoo options, or you can bring your own. The staff is friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. They even have some treats you can get right there for after bath time.

Small friendly practice

My family has used Spicewood Vet clinic for all of our pets since then 1970's. It is a small practice, so the vets and techs all get to know the animals. Friendly and affordable, in a building reminscent of old Austin, native stone, they even have separate sides for dogs and cats. The vets also do small animals (ferrets/guinea pigs) and birds. The best part is its proximity to the Bull Creek Park. Go to the vet, and get a reward by playing in a lovely dog-friendly park.

This place is great!

And I live about two blocks away, so I get to go there a lot. There are lots of other friendly dogs to play with, with friendly humans to match. There is more to the park than meets the eye, you can go from Spicewood Springs Road all the way to Lake Creek Parkway, which is a really fun walk with water to splash in sometimes!
