Campgrounds Blue Ridge Parkway M.P. 120.4 Vinton, VA 24179 This camp area offers easy access to Explore Park, an 1,100 acre living history museum depicting life from the 1st settlers to the present with several special events throughout the year, and the Roanoke River giving a variety of land and water recreational opportunities. There is hiking along the river, the ridge, through mountains, and up the Roanoke Mountain Summit Trail. Dogs are allowed throughout the park and on the trails. Dogs must be well behaved, under owner's control, on no more than a 6 foot leash, and cleaned up after at all times. This rv park is closed during the offseason. The camping and tent areas also allow dogs. There is a dog walk area at the campground. There are no electric or water hookups at the campgrounds.
