This park of over 600,000 acres can be described as popular, historical, educational, recreational, and a sportsman's paradise. Dogs of all sizes are allowed at no additional fee. Dogs must be leashed, and cleaned up after in the camp areas. Dogs are allowed on the trails. The camping and tent areas also allow dogs. There is a dog walk area at the campground.

This full-service animal medical center, awarded the highest level of certification by the American Animal Hospital Association, has provided comprehensive animal medical services to citizens of Central Louisiana for sixteen years. Our state-of-the-art hospital features a complete diagnostic testing lab; surgery, recovery and isolation ward; an in-house pharmacy; and boarding and grooming facilities. Our medical services include diagnostic and medical care, surgery [from routine spays and neuters to more advanced orthopedic and soft tissue surgeries], hospitalization, dentistry, wellness programs, and behavioral counseling. Prescription heartworm prevention medication, flea control products, and prescription diet foods are available. We also offer boarding services for small and large animals in air-conditioned indoor kennels. Professional grooming is also available by appointment.
Dr. Benton has been working at Kees Park Animal Clinic since it opened in 1990. Dr. Benton was born and reared in Lafayette, Louisiana. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture from the University of Southwestern Louisiana. Dr. Benton received a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Louisiana State University in 1990. She is currently hospital director and a partner in the Kees Park Animal Clinic.
