stomping while walking

This forum is for dog lovers seeking everyday advice and suggestions on health-related issues. Remember, however, that advice on a public forum simply can't be a substitute for proper medical attention. Only your vet can say assuredly what is best for your dog.

Scruffy sort of stomps while he walks. He's always done it since we've had him. Do some dogs just tend to stomp when they walk? Sometimes I notice when he is alert and happy he does this weird stiff le shuffle walk, like if he gets excited seeing a person or dog. Is that normal? I've read stiff leg walks can mean aggression, but he is never aggressive, just excited.

My first show dog did the same thing. He sounded like a horse going through the house. It never hurt him and he was fine with his joints. But it still may be something to bring up at the vet the next time he has a check up.
