Our doxie Walker had emergency surgery today. What we thought tobe an infection wouldn't go away. Come to find out, he had a genetic defect, a kind of hernia with a huge opening. And what we thought was swelling going up and down was actually his bladder that was changing as he emptied and refilled it. It was all the way through the hole (about 4 inches). So that's kinda good cuz it was holding his intestines inside. The doctors say he will be fine. He was still in surgery as of 4:30 pm. He's probably out now resting. He never had a single symptom - happy as he could be. He's just been very lucky all these years. The vets said that the defect is very rare in male dogs especially and very rare period. Paws up for our buddy Walker yall! Thanks in advance for your thoughts and wishes! Luv, Rik Rik | | | | |
