What kind of oil can I use for Toby's coat?

Rescue yourself,- rescue an adult- dog.

I use an oil in my own hair to keep it healthy. I use natural oil and sometimes synthetic oil on the tips and work it up to the scalp with a boar bristle brush. I want to know if I can use my oil on Toby's hair or are there ingredients that I should be wary of in the synthetic oil that can make him sick? I have never had a dog with hair as finicky as my own.

I can't respond to your oil question, but have to say I love your story about getting Toby. He sounds like my Che Che...the perfect dog. It does make you wonder how anyone could give him away. Thank you for being a part of our group and congrats on your lovely, perfect doggie.
