Introducing a new Mastiff

	I hope this not already posted here... so here goes. I have My female English Masitff (3 yrs old) and tommorrow eve bringing home a male English Mastiff (19 months old), I have a cat that my female plays with and would not hurt. The male has not been around cats. Any suggestions on intoducing the new dog into the family? Help I am short on time! thanks Mama of Roxy (mastiff) Tika (bobtail) and soon to be Red/Zeus (mastiff)

	how did the meeting go? we usually just keep new animals seperate but smellable til the fur stops flying. depends on the cat. some of my cats have just put new pups in thier place, no matter how big, others are more timid. best of luck to you...rio

	Well it is now about a month later and Tank (the new male) did ok with Tika (cat). Tika would not do the typical hissing, swatting, spitting thing, he just kind backed away. then they started playing a little. Roxy and Tank will nible each other ears, etc, Now he does this to the cat, someone told me this is a sign of affection? I just kept telling him to be easy with the baby. So far, so good. Mom to Roxy, Tank & Tika
