Just wanted to say hello. Me and my sis, Calli, are new here. We are both giants and have 4 standards also here at home with us. We are all part of my mom's foundation...we are all working dogs in one way or another. If you have questions about schnauzers, just ask my mom since she loves talking dogs and knows schnauzers. I am called Drew and am a Therapy dog part of the time, but am also a full fledge service dog for my mom since she has MS and needs help somedays with balance and mobility. Boy, life if fun. Calli is being trained for other stuff like obedience and maybe search and rescue. She is kinda different from me. That is fine with me though since I am allowed to be in the house and go everywhere with mom and she is not. We look forward to chatting with all of you!

Hi, your schnauzer gang sounds very cool! Madison is 18 weeks old, and I am hoping to get her into therapy work. She has a very calm temperament, even as a puppy, and she is very loving - she loves to be touched and is very gentle with her face and kisses. Maybe one day she will do Alzheimer therapy? Or be a reading buddy? We have lots of work to do, but it will be exciting to find out what she excels in. Of course, she is the perfect companion no matter what!

I'm new here too. I'm 16 weeks today. I'm not so calm though, is there a way Mom can work on me, to become calm? She is hoping to get me into service, someday. She has a bad back (not really bad just sore) and could use me to pick up things. We are starting puppy classes Dec 30, 2008 I really think Mom's excited about it.

Hi..I am Chloe'

Me too when I was little. I was a devil dog til three years.
My Mrs. Boss would let me have lots of running time. Ate lots too.
If I could not settle down I went to a "time out" about 10 min in my big cage and then Sit Stay & down"' got easier & easier.

Got lots of cuddles and praise, too.

We live in the country and the boys have a couple of fenced acres to run in, and I also go out several times a day and we play with the Chuck-it toy.

Still, about 730 every night, Trav gets so wound up that he does what we call his "Run-Around". He takes off at full speed and does a couple of laps around the property. He's dug a trench at the back corners of the house with his feet from taking the corners so fast..lol..

When he's finished, I take him out on the deck and given him his nightly brushing, which calms him down and gives us some quality quiet time. Although we keep the field mowed, there's still foxtails and burrs, so the nightly brushing has two good effects.. keeps Trav's leg hair and whiskers nice, and gives him one-on-one time.

Trav's 20 months old now, so he still has a lot of "puppy attitude" left in him.
