 | | | | My Sandy is 42 lbs. I thought the same thing for a while but finally realized that she couldn't possibly be anything but a Jackabee. Her Mom was a Beagle and her Pappy a Jack. It seems like they're giants, but think about it really-- the bigger Beagles when they aren't fat are about 35 lbs., then put that on the stilts of the taller Jacks, (2 sizes of them too!) and you get a pretty big dog. My Sandy (btw I started this group for her...) comes up to my knee (I'm 5'3") with her head somewheres about mid-thigh also. She's got the Jack spots on her nose (only when it's wet) and on the insides of her arms, has a fat Beagle neck, her tail has the muscle/bone of a Jack's with the length and white tip of a Beagle's so it curls to her mid-back, the Jack eye sight, beagle nose, ears get held like each dependent on mood, jumps like a Jack (or Kangaroo), has the persistence of a Beagle, the curiosity of a Jack, and the intelligence of both. Don't be fooled by the size; I chalk it up to "hybrid vigor"! (On a positive note, I just found out that they tend to live to be 15 or more!!)
