I have an adoreable Havanese/Poodle I have never in my life had a dog who dislikes the car and cries and whines all the while. I would love for this dog to go in the car with me all the time but because he makes such a fuss I do not take him. If anyone has suggestions as to how to win him over for a car ride I would be ever so thankful.

Maybe just have yer human put you in the car with toys and treats, but not go anywhere until you are calm wiht that...and then try short trips? good luck!

I love my car rides! Mom will hold me on her lap if we're going only a few blocks from home (I LOVE to honk the horn!) If we go any distance, or especially on the freeway, I am always in my crate and strapped in for safety. I first got used to this with a treat and/or toy in the crate... but now I just run right in, flip around and enjoy the ride! Lots of fresh air or a/c helps, too. Happy travels!

My Hav. puppy gets anxious to roam around the car when driving. I usually put her in the kennel cab with a few treats and a good strng chew toy to relieve any of the stress or anxiety from driving. Thats how I get her in the car! Also no music and lots of fresh air. Also maybe some incouraging words. Maybe even talk to them. My baby loves when I talk to her. blue dog
