shock Oh no, Rocky! What is the matter? Does it have a name? Or, are they unsure exactly what it is?frown Our brother Naz had some weird problem that started with his intestinal tract. He was on steroids too, but it caused a skin-eruption that made him lose his hair and little pellets of calcium to come out of his pores, called calcinosis cutis. Mom has a pic but hasn't scanned it yet. His story is on his page. I know it is something totally different from what you've got going on, but his skin prob WAS from the steroids! He did recover from it once the steroids were discontinued. I am sure your doc is on the ball, but it is something you may want to discuss, and there can be problems from long term steroid use, especially if you need to take any N-said medication! Keep us posted!wave

Maven - Thanks for your letter. I'm happy you folks let me be part of the group even though I'm "not Rott" (Ares is happy, too smile ). I'm sorry to hear about your sibling. Before I came to live with Ares & my new family, I spent a lot of time outside - regardless of the season. My mom thought that at first the problem was a scar from frostbite, but the vet said no. He is running some other tests to see what exactly it is, but he said for sure it is autoimmume. I'm seeing the vet next week. Keep a happy thought!! Rockywave

Sorry to hear that you have to take pillsfrown but happy for you that your mom has picked something good like liver sausagesmile to put them in. How is that working for you? I might get my mom to try that cause I am getting a little tired of the cream cheese.

Satiba - I absolutely love it!! Sure, I can taste the pills (and they are UCKY!confused) , but at least I know my mom loves me enough to get me something better than bologna! Another good thing is peanut butter - maybe if your mom reads this, she'll check it out.
Love ya, Rocky dog

We are fans of the good old american cheese glob. Maybe because we are "Cheeselanders'? Our mom dangles a regular piece of the slice in front of us as she puts the pill/cheese in our mouths. We swallow it down, darn well knowing it has a pill in it, but want the second piece so much we don't even care!laugh out loud

Peanut Butterconfused I think I might be the only rottie that doesn't like peanut butter! I even spit out a slice of yellow cheese when mom came home from work and emptied out her lunch tote. I thought what is that and spit it on the floor and it didn't even have a pill in it! Mom has tried velveeta, baby food (the meat ones), liverwurst and peanut butter. She's always looking for something new. Any suggestions are always welcome.

It seems like every 6 months, I gotta go on 3 weeks of anti-biotics for an infection. It's caused by my auto-immune disease & I just have to deal with it. Luckily, I'm really good at taking pills. big grin snoopy
