My name is Samoa and I have an unbobbed tail. It is like the tail of a Border Collie. I am a humane society adoptee, so am mixed but pretty obviously at least part Aussie.

Do any of you have full tails? Do you have a photo posted where it shows? Mama wants to see some so she can compare me to you full bloods and then we can id me as an Aussie instead of a whatever. Not that there is anything WRONG with that!

Hi! I am Samwise Gamgee, but everybody just calls me Sam. I am a cross between a red/tan Kelpie and an Australian Shepherd. My tail is about 6 inches long and appears to be natural. There are several pictures on my page with it showing. Since Kelpies have long tails, I must have gotten this trait from my Aussie ancestors. I show more emotion than dogs with no tail. They have to get over the top excited then their whole body shakes. I can glance at my master and wag my tail just a little and he knows I am pleased he is looking at me. Keep on waggin'!

By the way, some articles and books say that Australian Shepherds are born with either long or bobtails, and are usually cropped close at birth. So looking at one picture of an uncropped Aussie does not define that all Aussie tails should or would look the same if not cropped. Cropped is man made. Bobbed can be natural. Confused yet?

Hello,
I'm Alex and I have my long bushy tail perfectly intact. Other aussies without tails are great but I have to say that I wouldnt want to be any other way. It makes for great a conversation starter as well as making communication with my parents so much easier!

Hi, my name is Adobie. My brother Indiana and I both have natural tails! Mine is long and feathery. Indiana is still a baby so his is just fuzzy!

But we are pure Aussies! We are proud to have our tails! Even if it means we can never go to any big time Dog Shows! blue dog

Hi all, I'm Shiloh and I have a long, full, bushy tail that me and my mom are proud of. Mom likes to brush me and brush out that long tail too. Mom is glad that the friend she got me from did not dock our tails!
