Can anyone give me information as to where the dog parks in the area are? I know about Shelby Farms but was wondering if there are more...especially for larger dogs. Thanks!

Overton Park is great if you can totally trust your dog off-leash. If you have a dog who will run before coming to you--there are cars slowly driving past on the grounds, golf carts and golfers not far off, and busy Poplar Avenue beyond that.

Brownie Maeve, Ginger and I LOVE to go to Shelby Farms. However, Mom hasn't been taking us lately. Our vet told her that the ponds at the dog park have giardia in them. He has treated many dogs for this condition, and all swim/romp in the ponds there, so he checked the water under the microscope. Since we love to splash, Mom is worried that we'll get sick.

Even though it isn't off leash, one of my favorite walks is Riverwalk at Harbortown. I've heard that there are dog parks in Germantown and Bartlett, but I don't know where they are. Perhaps someone else in this group can share that information?
