Halloween coming soon
What spooks your Dale???
Heidi is very frightened by the sound of firecrackers although if she is on a leash she is "just fine" and totally ignores them.
Oh ! and today she wouldn't pass the laundry basket (ten doggie years bad luck you know)

Nothing spooked B'Elanna for about 4 years, then she suddenly became frightened of thunder and shooting. But within the last year she isn't afraid again. Now she barks when she hears shooting in the distance.

Other than that, I've never seen her afraid of anything!

Yup, fireworks kind of freak me out, as does the shooting (we live near the police academy and every morning at 7am they do a little target practice).

And of course I howl along with fire trucks and police cars!

Nothing seems to bother Franklin- ever! The only thing that gets him going is when he hears someone at the door but that doesnt count. He used to get all fired up at the hair dryer and trys to eat the air. But I think he grew out of that too!

Our new rescue dog, Alice on the other hand, gets spooked by any noise. She is getting better now that she is used to our house and all the different sounds. She barks when she hears another dog in the neighborhood, or when she hears something or someone in the house that is foreign to her. She gets the shakies when its thundering out too! She is that type of dog that follows you around the house whenever you get up from a chair, but Franklin is more likely to stay put where he is.

Last nite, a trick or treater was dressed like a Power Ranger - Franklin was freaked out and staring barking like mad! It was pretty funny. I think I need to get a PR mask for around the house.

Nothing spooks me except the thought of having my nails trimmed or my human brother picking me up. My sister Abby Gal on the other hand is spooked by the dishwasher, fans, fireworks, thunder and gunshots, lol and she comes from a hunting family. My mom says she's gotten a lot less anxious about the nioses since I came here to live with her. I am so glad I am helping!

Wellll... le-me-see. For one, I have Addisons disease, so Mom has to give me prednisone to manage anxiety, so I may be a little more spooky than some?
I dont like:
The Vacuum cleaner... It looks like a big snake that's trying to eat my feet!
Thunder... but Mom puts me on a leash and keeps me next to her, that helps.
Hail... and besides, it wrecked Mom's hostas!
Any loud popping sounds, like fireworks.
The smoke detector, when if beeps for a new battery.
Camping at the stock car races... Mom and Dad aren't going to try that one again! I had diaherria all over the motor home, yucky.
My uncle Dennis's power boat.
And... The wierdesr thing of all, when Mom re-arranges the furniture... hmmmm?

I am still a puppy so I am just finding out what spooks me. I don't like firecrackers or that vaccum thing though

Utterly spooked by the basement. Its only two stairs from the service entrance where Woo goes in and out all day long. It is well lit and non slip. I go down regularly to do laundry and its the only place she won't follow me. Sits at the top of the stairs and just waits. weird.

Seems to be spooked by the basement too, but the strongest reaction was to a spray bottle! Windex or household cleanser.....doesn't seem to matter.
As she's older & only been with me 6 weeks now I expected stuff like this to crop up, maybe she was subject to some aversion training by her previous family? {you know, "on the couch?, spray her with water"}
