Always wanted to know how to get your furry pal to bow?Well, I was taught and learned it in four days, with diligent practice and verbal and food praise!Wanna know how to do it too? Here are two, easy to teach methods!

Method 1:
(Dog must know "Stand" command for trick)
Step 1.Get your dog in front of you.Say 'Stand', so your dog will not sit or down. Then, gentley grab his front legs in your hands.

Step.2)Ease him so that his elbows touch the floor(make sure his rump and hind quarters stay in the air), then slowly let go.Wait three or four seconds then praise and give him a treat for bowing.

Step 3.)After practicing, add the word, "Bow" when you are training. When your dog completely grasps it, time to move on to a signal.Slowly add the hand signal(such as pointing down in front of the dog at an angle, or lowering your arm and circling it in the air, whichever you prefer.)

Step 4.) Slowly, using the hand and verbal signal, tell your dog to "Bow".When it does, praise lavishly.Don't frustrated if your dog lays all the way down, correct firmly, but gentlely, and repeat the command.

Step5.)Practice until your dog can bow when you ask, and then you can entertain guests at your house by asking your dog to bow.

TIP: If your dog's hind quarters fall when he attempts a "bow", gentlely loop a leash around his abdoemen and tell him to "bow".The leash should gentlely keep his rear in the air. This should work in most cases.

Method 2
(Dog needs to know 'Stand' for this trick)

Step 1.) Have your dog 'Stand' in front of you. Let your dog sniff a treat in your hand.Gentley place him in front of you where only his left or right side is visible.

Step 2.)Take the treat and let your dog's nose follow it.Slowly draw it down to the floor and bring it straight forward. Before your dog lies down, slip an arm under him so his rear end is in the air.He should look like he is stretching.

Step 3.)Always practice.Slowly add the word "Bow" and a hand signal.

Step 4.)When your dog understands, stop sliding your arm under him to keep his rump up.He will grasp to bow all by himself in no time!
