I don't have a huge trouble with this yet, but when Mom is gone I miss her and I can't seem to hold my bladder as long as when she's home. We've tried several solutions. Almost all of my life I've stayed in a crate when Momma wasn't home, just for precaution. Well when the pee trouble started, that didn't work any more because I would go on myself...YUCK! So Mom decided to leave me in the living room with a puppy pee pad and that worked for a while. But then I decided that it wasn't exciting to use the same place every time. This wasn't good for Mom's carpet. We have also used the belly bands when I was in the crate and they worked pretty well, but Mom hated to keep washing them and I got a little bit of a rash on my belly. So we are back to square one! Has anyone got any suggestions. Mom found a crate pad advertised for online that is supposed to be washable, super-absorbant, and stays dry on top. Anyone heard of these? Help us out here! I'm sure that I'm not the only one over 10 with these issues. Other than this trouble, I'm in great health and Mom doesn't want to give me a Rx all of the time.

Hi,

I have the exact same problem. Mom took me to the vet who made sure that I didn't have any bladder or urinary tract infections and then they put me on this medicine that helps a real lot. It is very well tolerated in dogs and I don't seem to have any side effects. Also, my vet said that there arent any long term effects to using it. I don't remember the name right now, but if you are interested, send me a pmail and I'll send it to you.
