	Hi, this is Drover's mom. We adopted Drover in June. He was in a home with a single lady with another dog and a cat. My problem: Drover is protective of me and doesn't like it when I kiss and hug my other family members. He actually nipped my husband the other morning and he barks up a storm when people hug and kiss. My hubby is getting upset with Drover. If anyone has advice on what to do to get Drover to stop barking and being so protective, I would appreciate any advice.

	I certainly do not know much about training but I asked a friend. She said that the dog has to know that he is lower than every person in the family so everyone has to discipline him in the same way as the dominant person. She also said that NILIF ( nothing in life is free) works for some dogs. They talk a lot about that on the Petfinder website. Maybe that might be helpful.
