This isn't a topic anyone really likes talking about; but at times it has to be done. My family and I made one of the hardest decisions 10 months ago to put Princess to sleep. My question is, how did you deal with your loss?

My dog Lucky died 3 and a half years ago. I honestly don't think i've completely dealt with my loss of her. I mean I don't cry all the time anymore. Sometimes I catch myself going to call her or glancing over my shoulder for her. I know she wont be there but its like I feel her with me. That helps. I visited and still do alot of different pet loss websites. Reading others stories was very comforting. If you'd like a friend, I'm here.

I lost my Che'Che on Nov 9, 2006 at the age of 16 of pancreatitis, She would have been 17 this past March 7, and We was wanting her to make it to her birthday. It was like losing a human family member, My, mom and dad and I went to a local cemetary where they had a section devoted to pets with urns for cremation and caskets and bought her a little casket and brought it home and prepared it with one of her blankets and put her in it and she is buried in our back yard in a flower garden. It has been almost a year but it is still hard to believe she is gone but at least she isn't sick and suffering anymore. I had been looking for another shih-tzu (brown/White in color but i recently obtained a brown and white papillon, he is a cutie but he isn't a shih-tzu and my heart is aching for another one, I love their personalities (They are one of a kind). My mom seemed to lean on getting the papillon because I think she couldn't stand the thought of replacing Cheech with another shih-tzu
