Thank you for joining and I hope you will find this group useful. Training our small dogs can be a very stressfull time, espcially when you are housebreaking or in this case Litter Box Training. This forum is here to help you get advice on training that pertains to the little guys like chihuahuas, Terriers, Pugs, Poms, and all dogs under 20lbs.

With litter training, do you suggest that I begin with the box or should I get my little Precious adjusted to Weewee Pads and then slowly get him to use the box?
Thanks so much!!

Hi, I have the dogs "nearly" trained to go on a square of newspapers. I tried to train Carlos earlier, but he wont step over the edge of the dog litter box. My new puppy eats the dog litter too. The winters are harsh here. Carlos goes on the papers in the winter, but outside other wise, Giselle the Itallian Greyhound is a new puppy 3.5 years old and since she is really suseptable to the cold, I will be training her to always go indoors, hopefully in a box rather than papers on the floor. Snickerdoodle is a stray who is probably 10 years old and has no teeth. I dont want him in the snow either. I hope to see a lot of hints and tips! Thanks.
