Born- to be- Wild!

I've been going to the vet every day this week for my dressing change. I have some infections that mean I have to take a lot of pills that I don't really like. My foot has been really swollen and seeping a lot of fluid. The surgeon and my pawrents decided that the best thing for me will be to have my leg amputated, so that is what is going to happen as soon as the surgeon is satisfied that the infections are under as much control as possible. That means probably Monday is the day I will become a tripod.
The pawrents are really sad, but feel that it is better to do this surgery. I get around pretty fast on three legs now.

Daisy, I know you will do well. But I also know your pawrents are sad about this. All because the dog walker took you on a busy street you weren't supposed to be on.

I will be thinking about you, dear girl.kissing

Mommy is hoping my amputated toe behaves. So far no soaking through the bandage and I will get it changed in the morning. My back legs are so weak I couldn't handle a front let amputation.

I'm sure you'll forget that you even had a fourth leg soon Daze. kissing

Is it your front foot that lost a toe, Spike? My problem is the right hind leg.

My sister (RIP) Mavis had the same thing happen to her and she lost her hind leg. She got along really well without it. When she first had it amputated she had some phantom pain and my Mom had some acupuncture done on her and it really helped. I hope that you are not in too much pain. hughughughug

Daisy, you will do well as a tripod. My daughters cat at 12 years old lost his hind leg to cancer and after surgery he wore alot of pain patches, but, he could outrun our two doxies!!!!! Anyway, our prayers are with you and that dogwalking business should be shut down if they do not want to follow the instructions that are left for them....

Sorry to hear that you are going to become a tripod. My mom was at a dock diving show a few years ago and she met a great pup that was a tripod. She did everything that us 4 legged pups do and was even out jumping other dogs on the dock.
