Yesterday, I spent most of the day mowing the lawn.... It wasn't fun........
I worked three and a half hours strait and just about fell dead on the swing that we have in our back yard afterwards. I'll admit that I was a bit cranky too, being tired and being bugged by my family members to get it done. I wasn't in the greatest mood.....
God knows what we need, He knows what will make even a little difference in all our lives. This is the small, tiny thing He did to my life yesterday.
As some may know, my dog and cat don't get along. If Annie goes anywhere near Chelsea, Chelsea will hiss and growl. She'll sometimes even chase the dog and try to get her. Annie will whine and whine and whine and eventually she'll bark if it's that bad. They just don't get along unless I help them to get close.
I was laying on the swing looking at the cat and dog chase each other around the deck. They were just another neusance..... I said, "Annie! Leave it, Kitty!!" I knew she understood what I meant because she lowered her nose like she does like she knows she was bad. Chelsea then walked over to Annie and sniffed her rear without Annie even knowing. Now, if you've seen my dog and cat then you know how strange and weird that is, but those that can't see it, just trust me that that's not normal for my pets! Chelsea then lay down by Annie and when Annie turned around she jumped back.
Annie then lay down and army-crawled to Chelsea to just sniff her. Chelsea didn't seem to mind! She's usually so cranky about it and, something clicked in my mind. "Even my cat can jump out of her cranky mood, can't I???" The two then becan to play with paw to paw and a chasing game with the two.
I made my way to the front yard. My neighbor was elderly and I noticed her and walked over to say hi. She has a puppy Bichon` Frise and it's so tiny that she needs her grass to be very short for him, however, her grass was very high. She walked over to me. She had obviously not had her grass cut in almost two weeks!
She asked me, "Were you cutting your lawn?" I answered with yes. "Well, I would've asked you to cut mine, but you look very tired..." In my mood I didn't reply. I just nodded. She then said, "Okay, good to see you!" I said, "Yeah, good to see you too..."
As I was walking home I noticed that she and her handicapped husband got into the car and drove away. This lady was out of work and I felt bad for her. She was a nurse and she was out of work! I went back and got the lawn mower. I would've never done that if God hadn't done something in my life. I know I wouldn't have in our 87 degree weather. Moving to NC, allergy season, mowing my lawn for three and a half hours, I had a nice break inbetween, I just needed to do something small for her!
God has worked in my life in the past month, but it's little things like this that give me an attitude check and make the biggest difference in the over-all. Watch for the little things! | | | | |
