Thanks for the kind words...

...but don't drive to Round Rock, we moved to Spring (northwestern suburb of Houston) a few months ago.

Darn it! Have you seen this post? Hey guys i just got some information that Representative Goolsby is wanting to have Section 822.047 over turned. It is clear that Section 822.047 prohibits breed bans. Senator Goolsby is aware of this fact, and rather than go back to the legislature, and have this issue debated in a public forum, he is attempting to circumvent the will of the Texas people.
So please if your in Texas write the Attorney General and express your concerns about this backdoor attempt by this senator

This is the contact information
Honorable Greg Abbott

Hey Jet, yeah we heard about this from another dog group here in Houston. Looks like there is going to be some opposition to Sen. Goolsby's efforts.

Having said that the law as currently written is a tough one, among other things your dog can be classified as a "dangerous dog" even if a person feels threatened by it without the dog actually biting or attacking the person.

If classified as a "dangerous dog" the owner, among other things must carry $100,000 insurance on the dog to cover potential future injuries caused by the dog even if it never caused any in the first place.

It would be interesting to know what Sen Goolsby's motivation is? To clear the way for BSL or to undone some of the rather strict and arbitrary provisions of the law.

I suppose you could write or call his office and ask. Perhaps he has a published opinion or had to file something with the Texas legislature.
