Ok, to be fair, I stole this thread from a lesser used site, but it is a great question.
laugh out loud
Poodle mixes are the smartest doggies - paws down. Besides the sit, stay, come, what are some of the tricks you know???

I also do "Dance" where I pull up my front paws, stand on my hind legs, and hop in a circle. Typical poodle trick.

I have been taught to speak on command, but just to confuse them all, I sneeze instead. So really I sneeze on command. No joke. Every time.

My piece de resistance is "Bang!" I lay down, and roll over and play dead. It is the cutest thing you have ever seen, I bet you a cookie!!

Also, I was taught hand signals to every trick I know, so I can do them with or without verbal commands.

Of course, how well I do depends on if I see any cheese in mama's hand!

My mommy wants to teach me to do that dance thing. I stand on my hind legs, but that's about it. She wants me to turn or something.

How did your mommy train you to do that? shrug

I can do lots of tricks! I sit, stay, shake, give kisses, dance on my hind legs, circle on the ground, roll over, play dead, walk (you hold the treat up and I walk on my back legs across the floor to get it), speak, high five (holds both front paws up and touches your hands with them), jump up into your arms to pull the treat out of your lips, sit pretty and learning more everyday. My Mom and human sisters taught me all of these and boy, do I love showing them off!

Oh, I forgot, I do all my tricks with hand signals to. They don't have to say a word either. Aren't we just the smartest!

We taught Toby to do the dance trick by holding his front legs up and moving him to show him what to do and say the word "dance" - of course with a treat for reward. Then, as he picked up on it, we just held the treat up and turned our hand and said "dance" and he did the trick and, of course, you always give lots of praise when he did it. Now, all we do is hold the treat above his head and turn our hand in a circle and he does his dance! It only took him about 5 tries before he had it and another 2-3 to do it with a hand signal.

I learned the same way as Toby. After I knew to get on my hind legs, mama would circle the treat, and I would follow it. It did not take long. With enough treats, I could balance the family checkbook!!

There is no way I would ever shake or high five or anything that required my paws being touched. It is my one rule. But I am always looking for new tricks to learn. I love to perform as well.

My best trick is playing my toy piano. Mom says "play me a song" and then I bang on the keys with my paw and sometimes with my nose.

You doggies are just too smart!!!! I can sit, lay down, and walk on my hind legs. My best trick I taught myself--Jumping on the table and stealing anything I want. I beeline it to my hiding palce under the sofa and then growl when someone tries to take it away. I like to show that one off and I don't even need any hand signals!
