	Reno is also a mix (RR and boxer) but looks and acts almost all rhodesian. He is an extremely smart puppy who learned to sit and shake in the first two weeks I had him. He is 9 months old now and it only takes him a day or two to learn a new command and will always do them when I tell him to. He is a lot of things, but he is not stubborn.

	I'm a good pup too!! So far so good ... My parents are consistent with regards to teaching me right from wrong - rewarding me when I display good behaviour. A good start - is the best start! They have been cautious (for my young, vulverable health) with introducing me to new dogs (until I have all my shots) and have introduced me to kids around our home too - to ensure I develop good sociable skills. I have met a very nice, playful boxer pup (and mom checked first to make sure she's healthy!) and I think she likes me!! I get love, consistency and respect and therefore I give it back. Some dogs do go off on their own course, but I am doing well. I have already been house trained and am learning to sit, stay and not chew shoes, already at 9 weeks of age. Having a lot of chew toys helps a lot too. I realize that good behaviour is more positive, and hopefully I will stay that way. I am happy my mom found this sight so we can converse with other dog , and especially Rhodie lovers. All the best to everyone and their families! Hope to chat and make more friends soon!

	Hey there, I'm new to this group, but wanted to give my two cents..I am a mixed RR (with red nose pit) & I am consistant with all the traits of a Rhodie. I will be 9 in April '09, but I remember my obedience training well. I was the youngest in my class & did really well. I was 8 months old & felt like the puppy class was too easy, so I went to the adult class. I can be stubborn, but not too often. I do talk back to my owners when I don't agree with them. All in all, I'm a very passive dog & I love attention. I love giving my owners high fives. They brought me home a puppy 5 years ago, but he rules the roost. (at least I let him think that) I hope to make plenty of pup friends & will talk to ya later. Good day, Brooks

	I live with both a Ridge and a Border Collie. They are the "Oscar and Felix" of dogdom if ever there was such! You remember "The Odd Couple"? There is such a difference in how the two relate to me. I have no problem describing my Ridge as "hound dog-stubborn" with a wink. I don't mean it disparagingly at all. She's willful. I tell people that if I ask my BC to sit, she asks me if I want her to sit this way, or that way, or perhaps she should pose in better light? On the other hand, any command given to my Ridge that doesn't involve food in my hand is usually met with a pause, a contemplation, and an eventual adoption of the idea as being hers in the first place--though her sit has gotten much, much better than that. Overall, I tell people it's like telling a good teenager to take out the trash. They love you, they'll comply, but it might not be push-botton robotics at work. And, like a teen, when in doubt you can always use food for compliance! Ange is my first Ridge; maybe others are more like my BC. I've been around other kinds of hounds, though, and I see in her some of the same temperment and disposition as they. It's not bad, unless you aren't suited for that kind of dog. I find that for the most part I am. I love both my BC and my Ridge for who and what they are, as they are. Does Ange sound like your Ridge??

	It sounds like Thalia Rose to me...even if I do have food some times she just has to test me to make sure I really mean it.

	Zuke can be a stubburn pooch sometimes, but generally he is very good. Very laid back, like to talk to me and people he knows well. he doesnt take notice of people he doesnt know, you have to gain his trust. nibbles my hands in affection, and likes to rub his eyes too i guess its his way of giving love to me ;-) i have a boxer, and bought zuke 5 yrs ago as a compainion for her when they were both young pups. theyre inseperable now! I have found though and i dont know about anyone else, whoever i have told i have a RR who dont know the breed, immediately think they are nasty dogs??i had never heard that before i had a RR. maybe because they have been used as a guard dog or hunting lions yrs ago, thats where it came from. my view is, any dog can be nasty, if its in them and if they dont know any different.if my RR isnt keen on someone, he wont give them the time of day. i think theyre a fantastic breed ;-)
