	my daddy rarely has me on a leash and I like that, now that I think about it the only time he has me on a leash is at petsmart. when we go out he puts my training collar / shock collar on me ( Dont worry he has only shocked me once for me to know what the collar was but my daddy loves me and USED THE COLLAR ON HIMSELF before useing it on me, so he knew that it would not hurt me ) but after that all dad has to do is hit the page button which beeps me and I come running right back to him he just beeps me to get my attention but most of the time I go to him when I am called because I love him so much and want to please him.

	I love being off the leash, but I don't get to do it much. I do at the dog park though! I run around my backyard too. If I get away from my people and I'm chasing stuff, Daddy yells for me to sit. When he says to sit in THAT VOICE I know I'd better plunk my bum on the ground and wait for him to come to me or I'm in trouble. Mommy doesn't have THAT VOICE right, so I just ignore her. I'm a daddy's boy anyhow.

	My mommy and dady take me to the dog park and train me to come back with treats. Even though they don't always work. We tried one time outside the park. But I smelled the biggest squirrel and took off. I have seen some coonhounds like my friend freddie, he's a bluetick walk with his owner off the leash, but they use a shock collar, and i don't like those. Good luck to you though!

	off leashhounddogslisten when called mom said maybe getting a tracking collar so they can find you in case you take off ( gps ) . also mom uses very very very long leashes if she has some one who will not be good off leash. she made them with strong line from the boat store that they use for the sails or rock climber use. this way they can run and think they are off leash but you still have them. moms longest one is 65 feet.

	Both my coon hounds have been E collared trained.I know most people think it's cruel but if you buy quality collar that adjust very low and has a vibrate button, with proper training not abuse you will find once it's on you will almost never need to use it but nice to know if you need it the dog will know what to do it may save it's life. These dogs are driven by breeding instinct, very strong and hard to change I've seen people hold these dog back with choke chains and spiked collars and the dogs will almost choke themselves out going after "prey" check out Dogtra collars and Leerburg dog training

	yeah, i don't do so well off the leash. Its not that I'm bad...but I just get side-tracked and go where my nose/eyes take me. don't even listen to dad when he calls. just run right up to people passing by, just to make friends. but they mostly get scared...i don't know why, i just want to smell them. oh well. ohhh and i have been hit by a car going about 40 mph one night. it hurt. i nearly didn't make it. i had no idea how fast those things with the two lights move; and they don't really care if you've dug out of your yard to follow a scent.
