It has been a while since I have checked my Dogster mail! As the new administrator I want to take this time to introduce myself. My name is Liz, I am from Shafter, about 20 miles north of Bakersfield. I know that this group is "Bakersfield Buddies" but I think it would best if we include pretty much all of Kern County. I have 5 pugs, Piper, Polly, Patrick, Presley and Winston. I would appreciate it if everyone would introduce themselves and their dogs! Thanks all! --Liz

Hello all, I am a newbie to this group. I just wanted to say hi. Tomorrow night at 6pm Kern County is going to vote on whether or not to implement the mandantory Spayn and neuter law. The Idea of the law is good but the acutal presented bill is very flawed and only allows puppy mills (those with a busincess lisence) to breed. Please help us fight this bill. I live in Taft with my family. I am a Yorkie mix that was rescued when I was about 3-4 months old! I am loved very much! I am the sweetest dog my family has ever had! I have a lab/rottweiller mix "brother" named Samson and a "sister" Queensland Heeler named Sissy I am the boss of them both even though I only weigh 8 lbs! All of us dogs are rescued puppies saved from being pound bound !

Hi there,
I am Julie and I live in Bakersfield with our dogs Coco, Sky, Sugar and Frasier. We also have two cats; Candy and Cat n the hat and many koi fish, we basically run a animal farm it seems like. Our dog Sky is deaf but is a joy for us and had taught our kids tolerance. Frasier is our resident devil and he must be stopped! Sugar is the sweetest dog and we love her so much.

My name is Dian Olmstead. Jill Peterson and I started Golden Empire Basset Rescue (GEBR)based in Kern county.

I personally have three bassets who came from rescue groups: Molly, the queen, age 8, Boz, our big boy, age 5 and Charlie, the little guy, age 3.

GEBR desperately needs foster homes, adoption homes, volunteers, donations, etc.

snoopy Hello everyone! Hope you're all getting lots of sprinkler action during these hot, hot days.

I'm Darby, seriously loved mutt of my mom, Vicky. We live up near Bakersfield College where I have a nice sized backyard and three cats for me to hassle. I like to walk along the bluffs and eat nummy treats.
