	My almost 15 year old husky mix died in Dec and I miss him so much. I also miss having a dog. I have been searching and searching for the right dog for our family and still have not found an aavailable siberian husky or husky mix. I always assumed my Rowan was a husky/shep mix because of the black v saddle on his back and his unfriendliness to strangers. In every other way, though, he was very husky-like--he liked to keep himself clean. He never smelled. He didn't bark (until he was about 2 years old and a neighbor's very barky dog seemed to teach him how to bark). He had a very high prey drive and if let off leash, he would just run and run and run. He had that fluffy husky undercoat that he shed a few times a year. He loved to pull and was so loyal to us. I hope one day soon we can welcome another Husky into our family.

	I'm sorry to hear Rowan has passed He was a well-loved boy to make it to 15. You're not in Brooklyn CT, are you? I have a friend in CT whose grandfather recently passed, leaving behind 4 Akita/GSD mixes. The personalities of Akita/GSD and Husky/GSD mixes are often similar. They are 10 years old. I don't know what you're looking for age-wise or if it must be a Husky mix, but if you are interested I could get you contact information. The Dogs Either way, I have no doubt that in the right place, in the right time, you'll find the right dog to help your family heal.

	Thank you. I am so glad I held out to find a husky/husky mix. Today we brought home a 2-3 year old all white husky mix (though he may be all husky, it is hard to tell. I see nothing in him that is not husky-like), who is sweet, good with our kids and friendly with other dogs. We love him already.
