If you have baby room set up early you can get them used to it and sound of baby toys make and the stroller and stuff. Maybe work with them so they are used to walking with the stroller so they and baby can go on walks together when baby is old enough?

If they know leave it that'll be great for when they think a baby toy is a dog toy..

I think someone would play baby sounds so dogs are used to noise they make.

I never had a kid so can't help much. Sorry.

Maybe ask on behavior and training section on dogster too as not many shiba owners post here right now.

I just had a baby boy in December and we started working with our Shiba about the same time period you are in now. We started off by letting her sniff and interact with all the baby gear we were bringing in. She was always in the room when I would be sorting baby clothes or organizing toys and things like that. Lucky for me I don't have to teach her not to mess with his toys because she doesn't bother things that aren't "given" to her that she knows is hers. Surprising huh? Anyway A few weeks before he was due, I would from time to time pack the carseat around the house or move it from the floor to the sofa, and things so she could get used to it. We set up the crib early and the place where he would sleep in our room several months before he was born. We basically conditioned her to get used to all of this new stuff around so that it wouldn't be as much of a shock for her once he got here.

When we brought the baby home, we sat his carseat in the floor and just let her sniff and check him out on her own. She was a bit cautious at first, but she kept trying to lick his hands and face. She was fascinated by him. We think she thought maybe he was a puppy. Here is a picture of them first meeting smile http://i.imgur.com/SAibLzJ.jpg?1

I was told to bring home a blanket or something smelling like the baby before bringing the actual baby in, but honestly I didn't have to. She took to him like dog hair to a sweater lol. I'm sure we'll have ups and downs along the way, trying to raise a head strong shiba with an equally headstrong little boy.
