Thanks for the advice everyone smile
Hes been doing a lot better- hes met some dogs that want to run with him and actually play with him, and he met a 6 month old corgi puppy that plays just as rough as he does smile
The gurgling raccoon noises and baby snarls he makes used to worry me but now I see that thats just a normal shiba, and ive had to step in less and less lately.

I am the proud mother of two Shiba Inus and I must say I love the breed, they are such a challenge. I'm glad that he is getting better but just a bit of advice about the breed, they are known to be aggressive and snippy. He should not be biting even playing this will only get worse with this breed. My male, the oldest, was terrible with biting and it took steady consistent zero tolerance even when he was being cute and playful for him to get it. He was stubborn but in the long run our diligence payed off. Even when he is being cute we corrected any behavior that might not be so cute in other situations. He is now 6 and we get compliments all the time on how great Harley is. We love him and have no idea what we would do without him. Sugar, our female, was awesome from the day we got her. Not alot of training needed for her.
