 | |  | | The term "pit bull" covers 3 breeds-American pit bull Terrier, American Staffordshire Terrier and Staffordshire Bull Terrier. You can visit www.pbrc.net for more information on them. In general, they were originaly used for baiting bulls and then dog fighting. Presa Canarios are a different breed-they are from Spain where they were used for hunting and dog fighting. Both these breeds have similar traits- well defined chests, block heads. etc.- but Presas are bigger, more of a guardian breed fron the mastiff family. Unless you are VERY involved with bully breeds, most people cannot tell the difference and presas are generalized as pit bulls. But there are many differences in personality. |  |  | |  |
