...does Cookie look younger in her more recent pictures? Is it just wishful thinking?
Here's some older pictures, ranging from 2006 to 2008 (around which years she was fed Lassie Natural Way, a corn0based food, and was overweight):

Here's the newer ones from this year (in which Cookie was fed a variety of meat-based commercial dog foods, raw meals, and a few raw eggs, and was said by the vet to be only a little under her ideal weight):

I think she looks a little sparkly. Much healthier. She is UNDER her ideal weight? I think she looks perfect in most of the recent shots.

"She is UNDER her ideal weight?"
74 lb. About three to four pounds under the vet's comfort level. But she has gained a few more pounds since then...she's about 77 lbs now.
Personally, though, I was more comfortable when she weighed 74. I'm trying to get her to go back that weight.

Well it seems what is true for people is true for dogs. Weight can make you look "older" than you are.

Looking great though!!!

I'm not so sure about younger, but she does look healthier and more spry, a definite improvement.
