Our Katie is a year old. Do you folks think she is a Golden Retriever/Border Collie mix? I read something here that might point to that:

One dog expert says she is a "home grown" full BC but I doubt that. However I have seen a full BC from BC parents that didn't look at all like an average BC.

Excellent swimmer, Frisbee catcher, retriever of sticks and balls. Energetic around people and other dogs. Loves all people, children, and dogs (no aggression at all). Very soft coat. Cuddler. About 45 lbs at one year. Thick white chest, white paws speckled. Tail is fanned. Has been know to herd me down the hall into a side room and sometimes has her nose on my ankles while doing so.

Click Katie to see my pictures and thanks.

Head shape, ears, and posture all suggest NOT pure BC. I'm with you on the thought of Golden Retriever mix.

Thanks. Yes, I agree. I'm almost positive now she is part Golden Retriever. She does have a lot of BC traits and mannerisms.

I visited a Border Collie farm near where I live recently and they had a couple of BCs that looked a little different. They all had that herding posture though.
