Mr. Lovejoy, the people on the other site are the true definintion of Ignorance: UNAWARE, UNINFORMED - ig·no·rant·ly adverb - ig·no·rant·ness noun synonyms IGNORANT, ILLITERATE, UNLETTERED, UNTUTORED, UNLEARNED mean not having knowledge. IGNORANT may imply a general condition or it may apply to lack of knowledge or awareness of a particular thing . ILLITERATE applies to either an absolute or a relative inability to read and write . UNLETTERED implies ignorance of the knowledge gained by reading . UNTUTORED may imply lack of schooling in the arts and ways of civilization . Don't listen to them. Obviously by Bandits picture, he was very healthy and very well taken care of. This had to be an accident, the people with any common sense know that. The ones who don't are just well....idiots. If they take you out of your position, they too, are idiots. If I was a Chief of Police, you are the type of officer I would want working in my department. Honest and committed. You are also Human and they need to understand that. All HUMANS make mistakes. The ones that have critisized you, will have to answer one day for their actions. God Bless you and your family. I love the scripture on top! That really says it all. Romans 8:31 What then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us?

UPDATE *******please read

"Sgt. Tom Lovejoy was booked Wednesday at 3 p.m. into an East Valley jail facility on suspicion of animal cruelty, a misdemeanor. He was released at 4hi50 p.m. on his own recognizance. >>?

Arpaio said he couldn't get an answer as to why Lovejoy lost track of the canine, but the sergeant's actions did not appear to be intentional. Reckless, yes, but not intentional, Arpaio emphasized.

The Sheriff's Office investigation revealed that Lovejoy was on an off-duty assignment with Bandit about 3 a.m. and returned home about 9:15 a.m. He parked the SUV outside his home in a county island and left Bandit in the vehicle.

Arpaio said Lovejoy and his stepdaughter then departed in a personal vehicle for an errand, during which time he received a call that his stepson was involved in a vehicle crash and needed help retrieving insurance documents. That ordeal took about 40 minutes, Arpaio said.

Throughout the remainder of the day, Lovejoy left the home several times in his personal vehicle and at one point took a nap and then had dinner out with his wife, the investigation showed.

Meanwhile, temperatures outside rose to 115 degrees. Lovejoy did not locate Bandit until after 10 p.m. that night. By that time, the dog was already dead. "

What is wrong with these people? If Joe Blow citizen had done the very same thing, they would have made the arrest immediately. Do I understand that correctly that they have him working right now, after his neglect killed a canine officer? That is terrible!!! If this is allowed then others who neglect their animals can use this officer as an example of why the court should go easy on them.
