We recently went on a trip to another Province called Ontario. The place we went to was Kenora and let me tell you it took a lot of time for us to get there. No worries for Biggles and I. Tom (especially) and Barbie took us for walks and watered us up during the journey. I whined a lot, I am afraid, as I have never been in this big vehicle so long before. I was assured the whole way that the drive would be worth the wait. I was doubtful and expressed myself. Seeing that whining did not change the circumstances, I decided to wait in the back and see what would happen.
We made a stop where we were allowed to relieve ourselves and then Barbie and Tom went to some stores checking up on us each time. We finally all ended up driving some way to a campground! It had something called a lake!! As SOON as we got there, Barbie and Tom took Biggles and I to something called a dock. There was the lake for the swimming. No hesitation! It WAS worth the wait! Swimming with my brother!! What fun!
I don't know how long I swam but, all I can tell you is that it ended too soon. We met a friendly dog named Gizmo and her owner Leanne. Gizmo wouldn't swim although she did deign to wet herself in the lake a little. This is the first of the nice people and their dogs that were also in the park. Barbie was even walking around offering other people OUR duck jerky treats! We also met a beautiful golden retriever who went swimming with us too!
We came back to camp and I still wanted to play. I still get excited and bark and I am told that I can't do that in the RV park. We went to sleep in the motor home and Biggles and I have finally decided where we will sleep. I like the passenger seat.
We went swimming 3 times with Tom the next day! I like lakes! I swim 'out to sea' in circles and bark like a puppy that either Tom or Barbie could hear all the way at camp! I chased the 'found magic stick' too! We found a great stick that Biggles and I could chase/chew/fight over together. I could have out swam Biggles and gotten the stick every time but, sometimes, I just didn't want it. Let Biggles have fun playing fetch. I preferred to swim in circles and bite the water and bark out my joy at being here and being able to swim to my heart's content. I still enjoyed chasing the Frisbee and the football at camp while Biggles slept. Did I yet mention that I, in pure zealousness and willful abandon, chewed a stiff competition Frisbee apart in less than 30 seconds? Oops! Dollar store ones for me!
There is some talk of rare footage and rumors of a number of local eyewitness' accounts of a strange set of beings looking like pre-historic "Loch Ness Monster looking-like things - eh?" seen swimming out in Lake of the Woods this week. Softball games were interrupted, jet ski lessons and a number of people who noted the strange 'monster-like' shapes in the boating area boldly swimming close to them actually near the dock. The collective witness descriptions are still being analyzed and the local authority's information that is released to the general public at the present time is vague. Some kind of Hush Hush Government deal. This is what I have been told.
I personally, didn't see anything out of the ordinary.
We only went swimming once more. Dogs weren't allowed on the beach and also not in the water at all. Probably about this new monster scare. This also meant the dock. We were banned from the beach. I was sad. We could see the sparkling water all day and didn't understand why we couldn't go enjoy ourselves again. I really wanted to hunt down that creature when I heard of it. I guess it was good that we went home the next day. The ride home was easier than going as we were really tired. We know what 'home' means by now and it means tired dogs can sleep. The mystery of the Lake of the Woods Monster will have to remain unsolved.
A couple of potty breaks and we were home. Let me tell you how happy I am to see the cats and *yawn* oh, I am so tired. Goodnight...
loving camping, swimming, and everyone!
