What's' a vakashun?

Mom has me a little worried - she is talking about going on a vakashun, but I don't know what that is. She says it lasts for a week...I think that's the time inbetween my normal school days.

She can't take me - she explained that she is flying somewhere, and I suppose her wings would get tired if she had to carry me too. (I never see the birds outside carry anything when they fly). We haven't been apart but one night since she became my forever mom, so I don't know about this...

On the other hand, my dogschool (Dog Day Every Day) right down the road will let me stay there. Suzanne, the owner, has an apartment set up there, and when me and the other kids need to stay for a while, she just "moves in" and we live like we're at home. We get to play all day and in the evening until "lights out" when we can find our favorite place and sleep for the night. And in the morning, all the other "day school" dogs come back to play some more. At least I don't have to sleep in some dinky cage.

Otherwise, life has been pretty good. Mom gave me treats on my birthday, and the school took my picture with my special hat on. Mom likes fall weather so we go out and walk more and do things. Only she really, really likes to take pictures of me. I suppose a princess just has to put up with the papparazzi...

Well, I'm going to take a nap - Mom will be home soon and will want her computer back.
