Five year anniversary!!!

Wow...some days it is hard to imagine it has been only five years since that fateful day thta Ellie and I met face to face for the first time, and she play bowed me and off we ran together in the baseball field. Little could I know that that was the first of many, many days together, plane trips to/from Hawaii, and all the other adventures that I have enjoyed with Cindy and Ellie.

I was just weeks removed from an animal shelter in Southern California, rescued by Dachsie Rescue...who knew Cindy would post to them saying Ellie desperately needed a pack mate after Cindy and Ellie had lost Shantye. Who knew that, recovering from knee replacement, Cindy would seek a smaller dog rather than a second Kees, a dog who could be packmate to Miss Alpah Bitch of the universe...Ellie...

And there I was, needing a home, and Cindy and Ellie needed me.

Ellie, pack sis, I worship the ground you walk on even if I do threaten to take your face off sometimes. Cindy, I am devoted to you with all my heart. Thank you for being my pack.

My first day in the snow

I can not believe the stuff I do just to keep my pack sis Ellie company...today we went way up into the mountains, to a place called Bear Valley, and me n' Ellie got to play in snow.

Now this was a first for me...after all I came from Southern California originally. I must admit my short stubby legs are not ideally suited to snowbanks. I watched where Ellie walked and man oh man when she sank to her belly I was so not going there...

I love the way snow squishes when you run through it..

Boring weekend at home...

Sigh...Cindy is sick in bed with a cold, Ellie is recuperating from surgery...I'm gonna be going through a lot of bones this weekend.

My DNA results

Well...I guess this is official...

According to the DNA testing done at Mars Veterinary, my heritage is four breeds (Cindy said this surprised her cuz she figured I really WAS Heinz 57...)

Two big surprises...no terrier...but my temperament is well substantiated by the DNA findings...Llahsa Apso, Miniature Poodle, Dachshund, and Mastiff.

Yup. One one side of my family tree was the Llahsa and Min Poodle, the other side was Dachshund and Mastiff....um...um...that side of the family tree seemed to stimulate a lotta discussion at the vet clinic. I just figured I had a very, very ambitious grandpa doggie.

Christmas at home was wonderful

You know, humans are really funny...Sunday and Monday, Cindy got all kindsa messages and phone calls from her human friends who were worried about her cuz our plans for a road trip to Reno got snowed out...they were all worried about her not having anywhere to be on Christmas....

Not having anywhere to be??? Are they not paying attention? Me n' Ellie were dancing around all day, especially when she put our Christmas Stockings up by the tree, and then we got our prime rib supper (we only get that on very special days)...and then Cindy went to church to sing with her group for Christmas eve...me n' Ellie can't go inside with her for that but we know it always makes her happy, so we try to wait patiently.

But boy oh boy oh boy when it's time for presents we just can't help hopping around.

I ran from one side of the house to the other with my dinosaur, and we had treats...

Cindy was right where she wanted to be for Christmas, with me n' Ellie!

Friday at the Rainbow Bridge

I think Dec 14th was a terrible day...even at the Rainbow Bridge...imagine, 26 people suddenly arrive. But their dogs are all still on earth. This can not be, it is not supposed to happen...doggers wait at the Bridge for their people so they can cross the Rainbow Bridge together. Now here are 20 children and 6 grown up folks, and no one to greet them...but wait...I know...dogs and puppies came running from the Meadow of the Strays and Lost Puppies, the canines who died without homes...I can just see them running, especially the puppies, leaping and dancing and tails wagging and lavishing kisses on the humans...and giving them a dog to hug and hold.
Rest in Peace dear people, your are missed and mourned by canine and human alike.

DNA testing?

Well apparently my Auntie Helena musta been feeling inspired or something...she went and had DNA testing done on her two dogs and I guess the results were kinda fascinating...they have a colorful past...anyway she convinced Cindy we should do it on me.

But you know...it only goes back to my grandparents. I think maybe my past is kinda complicated cuz no one can figure out my unique combination of traits...BOL.

My Auntie Linda came up with a whole new breed name for me...G.O.K....God Only Knows...I kinda like that!

And Auntie Pat calls me a Legless Wonder cuz I can walk faster than three Keeshonds! (including my pack sis Ellie).

BOL...I like the names my Aunties make up!

But Cindy swabbed my cheeks with those mini pipe cleaner things and mailed them off to the vet lab today.

Guess we hear something in about three weeks. Better not mess with my Happy New Year...

Stormy days are ok!!

Hey, that wasn't so bad...we were out for a car ride for many hours yesterday, we got to go walkies at the big mall under the covered parking lot, and we even got to go to Petco. Cindy bought all kindsa emergency stuff too...and then we got home and had the power on again!

Bow wow wow...that was funny.
