I am a dog! I am happy to be a dog! I am happy to bark about doggy things! I am smart about doggy things like fetchin' and sleepin' and doin' stuff to get treatz! But sumptimes ma wants me to also bark about imporfurant current events. So I do. But it is hard. I try my best but it is a burden.
Anywoof, I shall start close to home. Ma has a pawdit comin' up at her work. So she worked both Safurday and Sunnyday to help her boss prepare fur this pawdit. Safurday she took me fur my walk befure goin' to the office. Today, Sunnyday, we changed our clocks. Ma took me fur my short furst-thing-in-the-mornin'-potty-break walk but not a real walk. She told Da and my boy that one of them needs to make sure I get my excysize. I spent the day hangin' outside with Da while he worked in the garage. He threw my ball fur me every once in a while. Now everyone is home and it is rainin'.
Next, Santa Cruz Harbor. I think most Dogsters by now have heard about the earthquake and ensuing tsunami. We are in the Santa Cruz Mountains and so were not directly affected. I stayed home to watch the house on Fryday. On the way into work and school ma and my boy heard on the radio about the advised evacuation along the coast. Unfurtunately, rumors were abound and folks started evacuatin' some of the inland towns too. This caused a big traffic jam on all the local freeways. Poor peoples who wasted their gas, time and efforts bein' scared and worried unnecessarily! Also the Santa Cruz Harbor had quite a bit of damage from the tsunami.
Lastly, Japan. Ma's Ma is a lady from Japan. So ma has some aunts and uncles in Japan. Most of the aunts and uncles live in Okinawa. Okinawa was not much impacted by the earthquake or tsunami. Less impacted even than Santa Cruz! The aunts and uncles in Okinawa could be reached and confirmed they are ok. However, one aunt and uncle do not live in Okinawa. They live closer to Tokyo. Ma's Ma could not reach them all day Fryday. She was worried. Finally they called and everyone is ok. Ma's cousin hadta walk home from Tokyo and it was a long walk. He usually takes two trains to get home! But the scary part was ma's uncle and cousin's wife were missin' fur a while. The uncle went to pick up ma's cousin-in-law right after the earthquake. This is usually a 1 hour drive. It took them 19 hours to get back home! All is well fur the aunt, uncle and cousin's family fur the time being. There are surely challenges ahead of them, though! They, along with all effected peoples and animals, will be in our thoughts and prayers in the coming days.

Hi Whitley & Jojo! Thanks fur the kind barks!
Good to hear your furmily is safe. We are saying our pawryers for everyone.
Keep up with the barking!
Darling Girl and your Sweet Mum....
SO pleased to hear your family is safe. It is hard times ahead for many... unbelievably so... but there is MUCH love and support too.
I so wish people would LISTEN.. and not selfishly cause unecessary panic. Those who NEED help are the ones to suffer . I have views on panicers and hoarders.. not really typable on a family site.
But.. you and yours are in our hearts.. as are those far away.
Thanks Anya & Flicka! Good to see you both!
Pepper, you gotta smart mama! We are all so happy that your pack is safe :D and a little fetch is always good BOL!
I know I go a lot stir crazy if I don't get my daily walk!
Have a pawtastic day, pal!
