Happy Howl-O-Ween Dogsters!

I've just been tagged by new friend Angel. I'm supposed to answer these questions and then tag six of my friends so they can do the same. Here goes:

1. What color is your collar?
I have two, but the one I'm wearing now is a red plaid with black bones on it. Quite fetching!

2. What kind of food do you eat?
Well, we used to eat all sorts of stuff because Mom had us on something she called a rotation diet. We had kibble (a few different ones like Evo, Nature's Variety, and Orijen) in the morning for breakfast, usually with some canned food or something else yummy mixed in. Then for dinner we'd get some Nature's Variety raw medallions. But for almost three weeks now we've been on all "real" raw food. Mom says this new diet plan we're on is called Franken-prey Sounds Halloweenish, doesn't it? Whatever it is, it's yummy! We get all sorts of different raw meats, with bones and organs to round it out, and we love it!

3. What are your favorite treats?
Plato's Kangaroo strips, Natural Balance rolls, Wellness Pure Rewards ...

4. Do you have a Valentine or significant other?
I meet lots of pretty girls at the dog park who think I'm pretty handsome, but Mom says I'm still too young to date.

5. Do you get table scraps?
If it's something healthy for us, we do. Mom's something of a stickler for making sure we only eat really healthy things. But sometimes she'll let us have just a TINY taste of something else, as long as it's not something that could hurt us, like chocolate!

6. What is your favorite toy?
I have a few of these really long, skinny stuffed animal toys. A fox, a racoon, and something else that I forget. I love to shake 'em back and forth and toss them up in the air and catch them. And sometimes Phoebe and I will play tug 'o war with them!

7. When is your birthday?
I was adopted, so I'm not sure exactly what my actual birthday is. Mom wasn't there, and I was too little to remember. So we celebrate my birthday on February 1st.

8. How many times a day do you eat?
We used to eat twice a day, but now we just get a small snack in the morning and eat our big meal at night.

9. Do you have a favorite color?
I don't think I can see colors. But if I could, I think it would be yellow. That's Mom's favorite color, and she says that the color yellow is the color she thinks of when she thinks of me, because she says I am her sunshine. I know, humiliating, right? Mom is kind of a dork sometimes, but I cut her some slack because she does love me a lot.

10. Do you hope all your pals put this in their diary?

And now - who to tag? Ok, ready?

Buddy & Sadie, Josie, Sasha, Eddie, Roxie Hart, and Shelby - tag, you're it!

Tagged again by my good buds Buddy & Sadie - a dynamic du0 of GSDs from Colorado. Thanks for tagging me, guys! Holler!

1. What color is your collar?

I have a few but the one I’m wearing right now is turquoise blue and brown. Mom says this color combo is “in.” I just think I look really handsome in it.

2. What kind of food do you eat?

Starting yesterday, we are on 100% raw and we’re so excited! I don’t know WHAT took Mom so long!

3. What are your favorite treats?

Wellness Pure Rewards, any of the Plato treats (the kangaroo ones are really yummy – and for some reason after I eat them I feel the urge to hop around on my two back legs! is that weird?), and anything Mom is eating that we can convince her to share with us!

4. Do you have a Valentine or significant other?

Mom says I’m too young to date. But I do meet up with some pretty girls at the dog park sometimes!

5. Do you get table scraps?

If it’s something healthy, Mom will usually give us some. But we’re not allowed to beg. Mom says that’s rude!

6. What is your favorite toy?

We have some really long skinny stuffed animal toys – one is a fox and one is a raccoon. I love these because Phoebe & I can play tug together!

7. When is your birthday?

Mom didn’t adopt me until I was about ten months old, and I came from a shelter where some really stupid people who obviously didn’t realize what a great dog I was had left me. So we’re not sure when I was actually born, but I celebrate it on February 1st. Mom’s birthday is the 4th, so we’re the same zodiac sign, which is pretty cool!

8. How many times a day do you eat?

9. Do you have a favorite color?

I don’t know if I see colors or not, but yellow is the color that Mom associates with me, because she says I am her sunshine!

10. Do you hope all your pals put this in their diary?

And now it’s taggin’ time … I’m tagging Cooper, Peter Parker, Pippin, Princess, Lilith, and Bam-Bam!

I was tagged!

Well, Dogsters, it's been awhile since my last diary entry. It seems I have my paws full these days, so I haven't had time to write.

But then I got a paw mail from my friends Buddy & Sadie, two beautiful GSD siblings out in Colorado.

So what I'm supposed to do is post seven random facts about myself here in my diary. Then I have to choose seven of myDogster pals to send a pawmail to, letting them know they've been tagged. The dogs I tag have to do the same thing! (If you want to!)

1. My adoption anniversary is coming up soon, and I will be celebrating my sixth year as a member of my family.

2. Even though I've been with Mom almost six years now, she only found out I was a Powderpuff Crested last year. Before that, she thought I was some kind of terrier mix. (But I knew what I was the whole time.)

3. I love road trips - especially when we go to Grandma & Grandpa's house. Grandpa makes us scrambled eggs for breakfast when we go there. Yummy!

4. I love baths! See, I wasn't taken care of that well when I was a puppy and when Mom adopted me, I was in pretty bad shape. So she immediately set out to pamper me as much as possible, and I discovered that I loved it!

5. I do NOT like having my toenails clipped ... but I let Mom do it because she says it needs to be done. When I'm done, I get a special treat.

6. When I'm sleeping really soundly, sometimes I snore.

7. My sister, Phoebe, has to go to the vet in the morning for her checkup and her rabies shot. Mom says I'm going, too, to keep her company. SHH - don't tell her!

I'm tagging: Addy, Lily, Tubby, Kolbe, Timmy, Delilah, and Fenway

I Hit The Jackpot ...

So ... Mom bought the kitties some new food that she thought they would really like. But they don't. And when Tanner (the big brown kitty) doesn't like his food (which is rare, believe me ... he eats EVERYTHING!), he dumps his bowl and Olivia's bowl off onto the floor. And who do you think is waiting there to clean up the mess? Phoebe and me, of course!

I sure hope Mom keeps buying the kitties this food and they keep not eating it. It's YUMMY!

I'm so excited!

Good morning!

It is such a beautiful day, and life is good! I got to come to work with Mom today, which is always fun. I'm sure I'll get extra treats, lots of extra attention, and probably a bite of her lunch this afternoon. Yum!

The main reason I'm excited, though, is because Mom told me last night that we are almost ready to begin volunteering at St. Joseph's Hospital here in Tampa where we live. I have been certified for therapy work for several months, but Mom is always saying how busy she is at work, and so we have not ever gone to actually volunteer.

My New Year's resolution this year was to find ways to make a difference, and because I can't drive myself to therapy assignments, I needed to get Mom on board and get her to understand how important it is that we don't let anything stand in the way of doing this work. For one thing, all dogs need jobs, and even though I stay pretty busy keeping my brother and sisters in line when Mom is at work, I also think it is good to give back.

So, a couple of weeks ago, Mom and I went for an interview with the volunteer coordinator at the hospital. I was accepted as a volunteer on the spot, but Mom had to fill out a bunch of papers. Then we went over to another office to get our pictures taken for our ID badges. I think mine looks pretty good. I tried to sit up really straight and smile for the camera, and Mom said I look super cute. (Of course, I am naturally adorable.)

Then we had to wait a couple more weeks until Mom had something called a background check done. I guess the hospital needs to make sure that nobody bad is allowed in to see the sick people. I understand that, but I could have told them that Mom was ok. (Dogs always know. That's why you should never trust people who don't like dogs - there's got to be something wrong with them!) So now Mom just has to do a couple more things and we will be ready to visit patients.

Mom said that our first assignment will be visiting patients on the cardiac floors. This means that they have something wrong with their hearts, but hopefully the doctors can fix what is wrong and they will get better. I think I'll be really good with these people with the sick hearts, and here's why: I know all about having a broken heart, which is what I had when I was alone and abandoned, but then Mom found me and gave me a home, and now I'm A-OK. I'm no doctor, but I bet I'll be able to make those sick people feel lots better just by letting them know I care. I sure hope I do a good job!

I'm On Vacation!

Well, I just had a birthday on Superbowl Sunday, and I must be old enough now to go places without Mom, because last night I got to go on vacation without her.

Right now, I'm at Grandma & Grandpa's house - I came over last night with my Aunt Kelli, and my cousins Zucho, Cosmo, and Little Man. Mom had to work today, so she flew in tonight with my sister, Phoebe. (The felines don't like to go on vacation, so they stayed home.) But I got to start my vacation last night, and have a sleepover at Grandma & Grandpa's. It was fun - I love going to Grandma's. I get to play with my Uncle Riley, Grandpa always gives us lots of special treats, and there is a big yard to roam around in, and a pool to lounge around next to.

Mom had a birthday this week, too, so this weekend we are both celebrating our birthdays with the whole family. Sunday we're having a special birthday dinner. I sure hope there's Frosty Paws for dessert!

A little something by way of introduction ...

Good evening, puppy pals!

Since I am fairly new to, I thought I would take this opportunity to introduce myself to all my friends and admirers so that you can get to know me better. So here, in no particular order, are a few things I think you should know:

1) I just turned six years old on February 1st, 2009. (This is the day that I celebrate my birthday, but because my mom adopted me when I was already nine months old, she doesn't know when my actual birthday is, and I can't remember because I was too little!)

2) My astrological sign is Aquarius.

3) I weigh fifteen pounds.

4) I am the oldest of four children. I have one canine sister, Phoebe, and two feline siblings, Olivia and Tanner. You can read all about them on their own web pages if you want. But I'll tell you right now - I'm the cutest one. As the oldest, I am in charge of the house when Mom is at work, and I am the one who settles any disagreements, and keeps everyone in line. Then when Mom comes home, I let her know who was good and who wasn't.

5) I am a Canine Good Citizen AND a certified therapy dog. I have also done beginning and intermediate levels of agility, and I loved it, but then we had to quit because Mom couldn't learn how to do front crosses. I am hoping she will practice up on that and take me back there one day. It was lots of fun.

6) Although I do love the occasional McDonald's french fry, I do my best to eat right, and Mom makes sure that I eat only organic and/or human grade foods, and stuff like free range meats and eggs. My favorite dry food is Spot's Stew and my favorite canned food is Evanger's 100% game meats, but Mom says I can't eat that every day. I also like my vegetables (especially carrots & broccoli), and I love Nature's Variety raw food - especially the rabbit flavor. Mmmm!

7) To keep trim and healthy, I enjoy regular jaunts to the dog park and at least one walk per day, although I prefer two. In the winter when it gets cold (and it does TOO get cold in Florida - it was in the high 20s today), I sport a stylish red blanket coat.

Well, I guess that's it for now!

Bark at you later ...
