Shopping and Park !!

So Wednesday me and Sammie got to go on a girl's night and went to the pet store to go shopping! Our moms bought us food and treats and we went down the snack aisle and me and Sammie sniffed at all the bulk bins and Sammie's mom made a joke how it was like a buffet for dogs. There were some treats on the floor, those were boring, but I sniffed around and snagged a marrow bone and it was nommers!!! Mom laughed because I never eat treats away from home and here I was helping myself to the bulk bins! Even Sammie didn't steal a treat! I felt like such a rebel and mom said I was being super sassy about it BOL!! Then Sammie's mom said they expect that or they wouldn't put the bins at doggie level! Mom thinks it's a marketing ploy, that whatever treats a dog likes, their pawrent will buy! I think it's shady but I DID like the marrow bone!

Then Thursday cuz there was snow, me and Sammie got to go to the dog park!!!! We had so much fun! Then two dogs showed up that I never met before and mom was leery -I don't do well when bombarded by strangers- but luckily they were okay and we had all kinds of sniffs and mom kept me on leash just in case, but I did really good!! Then a THIRD dog came who was bigger and mom didn't want to push me so we were going to play in the small dog side (it was empty) and the third dog's daddy just let his dog run free and it came charging right for me and mom didn't think it was going to go down well because then the OTHER 2 dogs came charging at me but it was all kinds of sniffs and nudges and I did growl and get a little scared, but overall I did really GOOD!!!! I didn't freak out and didn't go Cujo on anyone! Mom kept me on leash and I did want to play with them when they ran by but mom said one step at a time and because the park is so big, if I felt scared or cornered and lashed out a warning to get them to back off and it was misunderstood and turned into a fight, she couldn't get to far end of the park in time to prevent me from getting hurt. I was okay with that. I would have stayed by mom anyway. But I did really good and everyone was really proud of me!

Maybe lots of snow!!

Even though it's officially spring, where we live it's never a smooth seasonal change. We have snow warnings and advisories and mom said if we get enough snow to buffer the mud, she would take me and my BFF Sammie to the dog park!! Either way, though, we are gonna get to go to the pet store!! I can't wait! I love to go and me and Sam rarely go shopping together! IT's like a girls day to the pet store!!! BOL!

I don't like change

So mom leaves for an hour or two after walkies and I'm not really a fan of this. She says she's "going to the gym", or "working out" or "swimming"... she can do these things here, you know. She has all the stuff she needs. But she said that, for a little while, she needs to do something different. Well I wanna go too! I can keep supervising and coaching! I stay out of the way! This is lame! BUT when she gets back, we get lots of play time and I get my treat ball and we hang out on the couch and I chew my antler so I guess it's sort of okay but I'm not thrilled.

Mommy and Me day!

I love mommy and me day! We hang out, go to the pet stores, I get treats and a car ride! We watch TV on the couch, nap, all good and fun things. Yesterday Miss Mary (Reggie's mom from upstairs) made home made dog cookies and I was SO EXCITED THAT I RAN OUT THE DOOR AND HUGGED HER!!! She's not very tall, I almost shot over her BOL! Then I got to walk the lake and perimeter sweep with Sammie! We chest-bumped and made lots of noise while wrestling, mom always says people who don't know us probably think we're fighting BOL! We just make a lot of noise and get each other slobbered on! The cat keeps trying to cuddle with me, I'm not sure I like that too much.

Nice Lake walk

It was nice enough to enjoy walkies around the lake. There's lots of geese to bark at, but they seem to bark at us way more. We just wanted to chase them but mom said no. I walked with my BFF Sammie and her brother, Luke. I tolerate Luke but I'm not a fan, though I am getting better at just ignoring him and being aloof.

I met a Jack Russell last night named Scooter. Hyper little thing but sniffs were exchanged, tails wagged and mom was VERY proud of how far I've come about meeting new dogs and making friends! Two years ago I would have freaked out and had a melt down. I would bark at people across the parking lot and was VERY reactive. I still act up if people get too close, but my threshold is way better than it used to be and people can walk past us on the sidewalk more and more and I get okay more and more. She said with dog hikes coming up and more time to walk the more popular lake (the big lake we walk with Sammie and Miss Kim) the more people and dogs I'll get exposed to and get lots of treats for behaving acceptably. I'm so excited!

Mopey

I'm mopey! Sometimes I don't like that we have a kitty because it takes attention away from me so I pout. I like the kitty well enough but he's an attention whore. Mom says he's part of the family and deserves love too and doesn't get to go on hikes or walkies with friends like I do, nor does he get play dates unless my brother Monkey visits. I spoz. And he always greets ME first with head bonks and chin rubs when I come home from walks, then he greets mom. Mom says that's important. I dunno, I guess, but I don't like to share.

no park, no offleash

this is getting LAME!!! It's "too muddy" for the park and with the lake frozen and so many geese to chase, mom is afraid I'll not pay attention and chase geese right onto the partially frozen lake and so she's not letting me run off leash either!!! So protective!!

I made a new doggy friend in the neighbourhood, but mom forgets her name and we were too busy butt-sniffing each other to ask! BOL!! Mom said the new dog's mom is a walker, too, and will probably get to walk with us soon. Granite's mom always wants to walk and come play but his daddy's a little more skittish and always cuts our visits short. Maybe some day Granite can play too cuz I like him, he's cute!

Dogbook blocked

Mom's bummed out. Dogbook is blocked now in some of her places so I have to update here and she said she'd link it to Dogbook later.

It's been raining a lot so I haven't been able to go to the dog park or even play off leash at the lake! This sucks!

Mom said that my BFF Sammie is moving in 2.5 months!! I am REALLLLLLY sad about this! She said they are not moving far and that we can still hike 2x a week at the bigger lake. But I like walking with Sammie EVERY day, none of the other dogs are as fun to hang out with! This sucks!

too early

mom woke up too early and threw me and Riley off our routine so we ended up getting an hour of pets, scritches, and belly rubs but then I suddenly got the poops and am not feeling all that great. Mom gave me a 1/4 steroid pill yesterday and again today for my belly rash cuz it's coming back and she's hoping the low dose will nip it in the bud. I got it so bad last month from licking and fussing with it I had to go to the doctor! I always get a belly rash from something on our Lake walks when we play in the grass. This sucks.

I'm mostly back!

Me, mom, and my feline brother Riley have all slacked on updating out dogster and catster. I've been on Dogbook more because I can upload tons of pictures and videos to my friends AND my mom's friends easily.
