Recently I made a comment on my pal Minnie’s diary about how I too have won the battle of the sleeping arrangements. After months of whining and fussing I was finally allowed to sleep full time on the daybed with momma. Well last night things changed and not for the better.

Apparently my demand of sleeping across the middle of the daybed has been causing momma great distress. To add to he alleged miseries I told Coco Rose that she too should be sleeping on the daybed so both of us were snuggling next to momma. However, momma says she can not sleep on a tiny portion of the mattress and therefore both Coco and I were evicted off the mattress last night in the middle of the night, can you believe such rudeness?

Maybe some of this was my fault because all night long momma was moving me to other areas of the mattress but each time I would get up and stumble back to the spot that I had chosen. I don’t know why she couldn’t understand I had picked where I wanted to sleep and there were plenty of other spots on the mattress that momma was welcome to curl up on if she so desired. I tried and tried to remind momma that she had invited me to live with her and daddy so therefore I should be entitled to sleep where I feel the most comfortable and if it happens to be on her bed, well so be it.

Alas, no amount of whining or crying worked last night and I was FORCED to sleep in the dog bed. I heard momma tell daddy today that the stairs to the top of the daybed will be removed at night so that Coco and I will have to sleep in our dog beds – PHOOY! It’s just not right. I need to snuggle with my momma to make sure she doesn’t abandon me during the night. I think sleeping in the dog bed alone might cause me psychological problems, don’t you? I wonder if sleeping in the dog bed null and void my adoption contract because the humans are supposed to love, take care and I’m pretty certain there was a clause in there about giving into all of my demands.

Yeah, this all sounds very wrong to me. Don't know what to tell you, I am the only dog allowed to sleep on the big bed. I have never been kicked off.
It's wrong, very wrong. I am sure you will work something out.

Wellwoof, both Ma and Dadders were brought up with no dogs allowed up on the beds. So that is how things were my furst 3 years around heres. But then suddenly Dadders started invitin' me up on the bed! Ma didn't say nuthin' so guess it was ok with her, although she wouldn't a started it. I got lotsa nice comfy dog beds that I do enjoy.

Anywoofs, I really likes Ma's side of the bed. But when she asks me to move over I do. Hopes you can work your way back up theres! It sure is nice!

I insist on sleeping at the foot of the bed. My momma wants me to sleep up with her, but it ain't gonna happen!

I wrote a blog on this very subject recently (www.demonflashbandit.blogspot.com). I said that the reason the humans have guest rooms is so that they will have a place to sleep when the dog (or dogs) take over their bed. I think your Mommy probably needs to familiarize herself with this blog. LOL

I used to sleep on the big bed too. Then one day Daddy said I had to sleep on the doggie bed beside the bed.

Oh how I cried and cried for days, but it didn't work.

Let me know if you find some legal way to get me back up there.

Monty always sleeps on the foot of Mommy's bed and it works for him and her. I on the other hand sleep right next to Mommy and I am the size of a small or medium human so it's like three people are asleep on Mommy's bed with Mommy every night. I am lucky that she tries to be nice about not waking me up but, I have heard her saying here lately that her back hurts. So I might have to stop being such a bed hog for a little bit.

Thankfully she can't keep me off of the bed because, I am tall enough that I don't need stairs to get on it.

I've always had to sleep in my own dog bed so I have no advice for you Puff. However, I do find my sissy Destiny's bed to for some reason be much more comfortable than mine. She doesn't like it too much and barks at mommy to make me move sometimes. Maybe that's what's happening with you and your momma wants her bed back like Destiny does. I know, it's not fair and we're getting the short end of the stick.

I jus' found out-I can jump an get in mama bed. I likes to snuggle fur few minutes before mama go to sleep. I don' like sleepin wif mama cuz I get too hot. I likes to sleep unner mama's bed.

I sleeps with 2 lawyers every night-- maybe I can loans ya one....

I sometimes take over Momma's spot if I get there before she does... I've even been known to let out a growl or two when she makes me move... but moves I duz...
