I need to thank Redford for taking the time to make that beautiful picture frame to help me celebrate being one of the diary picks of the day. I'm wondering why my momma won't take the time to learn to do these kinds of things too...It's not like she has a job or anything you know. She's just lazy, lazy, lazy. In fact I can't even remember when she took Coco and me for a stroller ride recently.
I head daddy tell momma that we might be going back to Arizona next week. They did find several properties that they are interested in but there seems to be a difference of opinion between both momma and daddy in which to get. If they can not come to an agreement then we will go back and look at other properties.
The ten acre property the owner wants a ton of money for it, much more than the humans have to spend, but the roads are doable so momma would not have to get rid of her car. Another thing is that there is an electric line that runs along the back edge of the property so it would be easy to connect electric to a house. The bad thing is that it snows during the winter and it tends to stay on the ground for a while, although it would never be as sever as the snows that those of you who live on the east coast get.
The other two properties being considered are the two different 40 acre lots on the mountain. The one that daddy wants is in the middle of the mountain. The roads are dirt, rocky and pitted with pot holes. There is no way any normal car can make it up that mountain so momma would have to get rid of her car. There is no mail service so people take turns picking up mail and delivering it to others who live on the mountain. There is also no electricity so the humans would either have to install solar or wind generators which is another expense. The property that momma loves is at the very top of the mountain (figures), but the view is to die for. While we were looking at that property there was a lighting storm and all momma could think about was FIRE especially since the mountain is loaded with junipers, pinions and pine trees. She even asked the realtor how people would get off the mountain should it catch fire. His response was "very carefully".
Arizona and New Mexico just suffered through several horrible fires so it is a real cause for concern. There was a sign posted at the bottom of the mountain stating that the fire hazard was EXTREEM so even those who live there are aware.
Another thing to consider is that those who live on the mountain burn their own trash so again, fires could easily occur.
Anyhow, if the owner of the 10 acre property does not accept daddy's offer, then we will most likely head right back to Arizona and continue searching for some place to move to.
Well momma is giving me dirty looks now so I better get off the computer. Thank you all for the congratulations and pressios. You're all the best pals around.
Is tuff fur da peeples to 'cide. LOTSA fings to finks 'bout. WOOHOO more road trips.
PUFF.. CONGRATS ON BEING ONE OF DOGSTER DDP !! ALSO .. GOOD LUCK TO MOM AND DAD FINDING A NEW SPOT TO LIVE ! THEY SAY INTEREST RATES WILL STAY LOW UNTIL 2013 .. SO HOPEFULLY THEY HAVE SOMETIME TO REALLY LOOK !
Those "remote" areas look and sound good, but aren't necessarily as easy to live in as you might think if you are used to the city. Some people love that, but it is something to take into consideration because life always looks easier when you aren't actually doing it yourself.
My Mom can't figure out how to do those special things either and my Mom doesn't work either. They are just too difficult! We'd love to learn too though. Sounds like your Mom and Dad have a lot to consider. My Mom grew up in a rural and I mean rural town during her teen age years and this was NO picnic. Yes, they had 'lectric, but the closest grocery store was 12 miles and there was NO mail delivery, needed to go to the post office and get your mail! Good Luck with which ever property your Mom and Dad decide on, it will be an adventure!
Road trip! Yea! If they can't decide, you get to keep takin road trips which are so much fun. Maybe you should just leave all your stuffies in the car with all the travelin you're doing and only take a couple in the house with you. That way, none will get left behind and they'll get to keep takin road trips too.
Road trips are always wonderful. I wish your peeps well with their search. My peeps live in a very rural area where they have to drive 15 minutes to the post office and 35 minutes to get groceries. They wouldn't want to live anywhere else even in our cold winters. Hugs.
