It has been five days since I hurt my spine. I have regained about 90% use of the leg that I was draging on Thursday night. I still tend to walk a little, stumble and fall because my left leg is now weak and it is hard for me to control it. One of our best friends on Dogster send us a link to a group that helps people with pets that suffer spinal injuries (Dogerslist) and they have been coaching momma on what I can and can not do. One of the main things is that I MUST be crated for at least two weeks in order to allow my spine to heal. This is turning into a real challenge as the steroids make me thirsty so I drink a lot of water and you know what goes in must come out. Apparently momma forgot to tell daddy this because I peed all over in my crate today. When momma got home from work she picked me up and immediately said I smelled like pee! I should be insulted but I had dried pee all over me so guess what happened next? Yup, it was off to the ole bathtub for a scrub and rinse.

I am all cleaned up again and sitting right next to momma as she sits on the floor. Momma said since we can't get up on the daybed of sofa she would join us on the floor.

Some pups might think I am not a very lucky pup but I think I am very lucky because at least I can still walk. Thank you all for the words of encouragement and POTP's. I love you all.

PS - how do you get pee out of foam? Can it be washed in the washing machine?

Was the foam used as your bedding? It would be small then wouldn't it. If your mom can find a product called Nature's Miracle (pricey but worth it) she could wash it in the washing machine using that. Mom washed my foam bed in the washing machine and she used Nature's Miracle (I have spay incontinence so sometimes I have accidents) and it worked fine. In a pinch she has used 1 part water to 1 part vinegar and let that soak for a while and then washed normally.

Natures miracle in the orange bottle is the best. If you can't wash the foam in washing machine with it - at least saturate the foam with natures miracle and let dry. Love ya.
