Last few days

After a pretty boring week, I've had a pretty exciting last couple of days. First, I'd like to let everyone know that mom's search group (Midsar) did locate the missing man. As expected, he passed away, but at least he was found and the family can have closure.

Now onto happier stuff. As tired as mom was when she got home Saturday, her and dad did still take us for a walk. It was just around the block since that is about as far as I can go with my hip, but it was a beautiful day, like springtime, and it was really nice to be outside to enjoy it:)

Sunday was a busy day. When mom got home from church we went to visit grandma. From there we stopped at the barn, but didn't get out cause Jada was outside and if you remember, Jada hates all dogs and wants to eat us! I had NO problem waiting for mom in the car. She wasn't long though so it wasn't bad. After the barn we hung outside with mom while she cleaned the inside of her car. Then Barb came and we went for a visit to Country Meadows. It was nice to see everyone since we haven't been there since before Christmas. Needless to say, they were all happy to see us too:) When we were done at CM, mom took her car to the drive-thru car wash. Now I've been through one of these things already, but I don't think Echo was cause she was all eyes and her head whipped around like crazy trying to see what all was going on. She was really funny. Me, I just laid on the backseat and chilled. I knew what was up and it didn't bother me one bit.

Monday was a big day cause we had to go to the vet to have our teeth cleaned. Yep, once a year we get them done and all three of us go at the same time. Usually we are out by lunch, but this time our cat Gizmo had a cavity and needed to be put under so the vet could take care of it. Well that meant we were all stuck at the vet until after 3pm. Dad finally picked us up around 4pm and we were never so happy to go home! Not because we don't like the people, we just don't like the vet experience and having teeth done is no different. At least this time Echo hung with me in my crate instead of roaming around the back like usual.

So that catches you up on what's been going on around here. We are home this weekend cause our Emilie is coming Saturday to spend the night and I can't wait! We haven't seen her since before Christmas and we really miss her. I'm sure I'll have plenty to tell you about her visit with us so check back after the weekend for more!

No UTI! But bad behavior:(

Mom was very happy to hear that I do NOT have a UTI:) However, she was a little upset at me because once realizing that it was not physical causing me to potty on the floor, she can't figure out why I'm doing it since I never did anything like this before. It's true, I never pottied in the house unless I was sick, but for some reason, even unknown to me, I've been doing it the past week. Maybe cause we're not getting out much, or maybe cause I want to get Echo in trouble or who knows why we do some of the things we do? Dad wasn't happy either and said that I better stop cause next time I'll get scolded just like Gizmo and instead of Echo being in a crate it will be me. NO!!! I hate the crate and haven't been in one for years and I don't want to start now, but mom said if I don't stop that's exactly what's going to happen. She also caught me going into Echo's crate last night and eating her food. She just can't figure out what has come over me and the bad behavior lately. It's not like I'm jealous that she's doing stuff with Echo and not me cause she takes us both everywhere and I'm only home one time a month when Echo goes to search training. Plus, mom has really been giving me more attention and cuddling with me more cause she knows my hip has been bothering me. But I guess I better stop misbehaving or else!

On a better note, last night we had our visit to Manor Care and it was a very nice one. Everyone was in good spirits and seemed to be doing very well. We visited with some people in the rec area where they were playing bingo then went to our normal rooms. Lois is doing well, but was very sick last week. It sounded like she had the same thing mom had, but poor Lois had to go to the hospital for a couple days. I guess being older you need to be in the hospital just in case, but I'm really glad she's okay now:) We gave Roy a show and were rough housing in his room a little. He loves to watch us play like that, but mom made us stop when we ran into his wheelchair pretty hard...sorry Roy!

Today it was raining when mom went to work and then the temps dropped and it turned to ice. Mom got to work okay, but then she ended up locking herself out of the office when she went to put the ice melt on the sidewalk. Poor mom was stuck outside with no jacket, no boots, and no cell phone to call her boss to come open the door. After about 20 minutes, the attorney next to them finally arrived and she was able to go in their office to warm up and call her boss. Mom said she was wet and very cold, but learned her lesson and will never walk out the door without keys in hand again! Poor mom, her day did not start out too good and it's all cause of this stupid weather. Will it ever stop!?!?!?

Dogster is staying!!!

I just heard the news that Dogster is NOT shutting down and is staying... YEE HAW!!! That makes us soooooo happy:D Thanks to everyone who voiced their concerns along with our mom to keep our community going. We love sharing with all our pals and it's good to know others feel the same way. We hope the transition is smooth and all our info transfers without a problem.

Now, onto what I've been up to. Well, it hasn't been much since mom has been recovering from that virus and all the snow is still coming. I think today was the last day for snow (at least we hope!) so that it good. Yes, I love snow, but the problem is I love it too much! When we have this much snow I love to run around and play in it, but because there is so much, I have to hop around to get from place to place and that is hard on my hip. You know me, I'm all about having fun in the moment and not worrying about how I'll feel later. What a mistake that was! I had fun playing with Echo in the snow over the weekend, but I paid for it later! My hip hurt so bad that I could barely walk and forget getting up and down on the sofa or bed. Dad had to lift me up when I wanted up cause I didn't have the strength to do it myself. Mom did give me a buffered aspirin like the vet told her and it helped and I'm feeling a little better, but these darn hips still aren't back to normal. Of course, mom said they will never be back to normal cause I have that dysplaysa thing and only surgery will fix it totally. But the vet said I'm not ready for that and I have to agree with him. I'm in NO hurry to get cut up and fake stuff put in my body. However, mom did call to get me a pain med to get me passed this tough time and also we are changing my joint supplement so one that a few of our friends used on their dogs and they said it was like new dogs came to their house after a few months. Their dogs were running and playing and it was like they didn't have hip problems at all. We are praying this works just as well for me too!

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention my other little "issue". So you all know Echo is the one with the bladder issue and she has to wear a diaper from time to time. Of course whenever there is an "accident" somewhere in the house they blame Echo, but she never really gets in trouble cause of her problem. Well the past two nights mom has woken up to puddles in front of the door. Mom was confused yesterday cause Echo had a diaper on at night so mom couldn't figure out how she did it, except that the diaper was half off so mom figured she went around it. But this morning Echo's diaper was secure in place and there was a puddle on the floor and then mom figured out that I had to be the one and she felt so bad not only cause she was blaming Echo, but because she now realizes that I probably have a UTI that I've been dealing with for a few days and she didn't call the vet. I know it wasn't her fault cause I showed no signs at all for her to know that it was me. Now mom has a diaper on me (which I am NOT happy about) and is taking me to the vet tonight to check to see if in fact I do have the UTI. If it's not one thing it's the other. Maybe one day we'll all be the perfect image of good health!

As far as this week is concerned, I know we are visiting Manor Care tonight, but other than that, I have no idea what is on the agenda. With the weather warming up hopefully we get out and about a little more. I think mom may take us to the barn and I always love going to the barn!

Well that is about all for now. I hope everyone is doing okay with all this bad weather and paws crossed that it is all soon over and we can all have fun in the springtime!

Mom's been sick

Sorry I haven't posted in a while, but mom has been really sick. I mean I think it's the sickest I've ever seen her and I've known mom for over 7 years. She spent all Sunday night in the bathroom and it wasn't in a good way either. I was there for her, but tried not to get in her way. Echo kind of took over and pushed me out anyway, but I didn't mind cause when mom would get sick the noise freaked me out so I'm glad Echo was there for mom during that part. I did stay with mom when she was on the sofa and in bed though and she did go back to work today, but she's still not back to herself. Whatever mom had hit her good and now the snows gonna hit us good too.

Yep, another winter storm coming our way tomorrow. Will it ever end? It's not bad if it's just snow cause we can play in that, but then we get that ice and it makes it hard to walk and sometimes cuts our paws and I don't like it at all! Even when I do get an area stomped down where Echo and I could play, Echo wants no part of it. For a search and rescue dog, she sure isn't too good in the snow and ice I'll say that. But then again, I know she would go to great ends to find someone no matter what the weather so I guess I shouldn't pick on her.

Anyway, there hasn't been anything going on around here cause mom has been so sick. Just hanging with her sleeping and watching TV. We're suppose to go to the cabin this weekend, but I honestly don't know if that will happen cause of this winter storm. We may get plowed out down here, but if there is too much snow at the cabin, we have no way of getting in the driveway and into the cabin so I guess we'll see.

Well, that's about all I have for now. I pray that everyone is safe during this storm and if you have to go outside, be careful!

Everyone is doing well

We had a visit to Manor Care last night and I'm happy to report that everyone is doing well:) They were all very happy to see us and we even met some new people too which was nice. Lois is doing good considering she lost her husband and son recently. She is always so happy to see us and loves when we lay by her wheelchair while she talks to mom and Barb. Miss Sara was cruising down the hall in her wheelchair when we got there which was nice to see since she hasn't been feeling well the past few times we visited. We visited some new people on the third floor last night. The gentleman had oxygen on and it drove Echo insane trying to figure out what that thing was on his face. She was really funny and the guy enjoyed her antics:D

We're home this weekend and I don't think mom and dad have many plans so I have no idea what we may get to do. I did hear mom mention a possible visit to Country Meadows if it doesn't snow on Sunday so I'll let you know if we go. We haven't been there since Christmas so I'm sure they are missing us!

Well, that's about all for now. I hope everyone has a good weekend and stay warm!

Snow, Snow, go away!

Yeah, I do like snow. I love to play in it, throw it in the air and catch snowballs mom throws at me, but come on now, this much snow is just ridiculous! It seems like every other day we are getting some kind of stuff falling from the sky and I gotta tell you, I've about had my fill. Yesterday was the biggest one yet for us and of course dad was at work so mom had to do all the snow blowing. Us dogs go to play outside while she did and I had lots of fun! Mom put this stuff called Mushers Secret on our feet and guess what? No snowballs! I was soooo happy cause I hate those snowballs in my feet! We played for over an hour and when mom was done, I was ready to go inside and relax. Mom said we have more storms coming so I guess I'll get to play some more:)

Okay, now about my weekend. As I mentioned, we did go to the cabin. We got there Friday, but it was dark so we just chilled in the cabin. Saturday mom and dad went to an auction, but when they got back mom took us for a Kubota ride in the woods. It was a pretty nice day so we stayed there for a long time. Mom sat in dad's tree stand and looked for deer while us dogs looked from the ground. No luck though, not even a squirrel. After that, we rode across the street and Echo and I played tag. Of course she won cause by now my hips were starting to tire out. But she is pretty nice and let's me tag her sometime so she's not all that bad:) Sunday we headed home and didn't so much. We watched the Super Bowl and our teams were already out of it so honestly, I didn't care who won. Echo went crazy over the Budweiser commercial with the horse and puppy. Yeah it was really cute, but Echo she almost took the TV off the wall!

That's about all I've been up to. Don't know if mom will be home with us again tomorrow cause of the storm or not. I like when she's home with us, but I know she has to work and one day she'll be home all the time:) Anyway, try and keep warm and be safe if you're getting this crazy weather like we are. Bark at you all later!

DDP yesterday!

I can't believe mom missed it! I was picked for DDP yesterday and I only found out from some pals who sent me congrats. Mom's been busy and not feeling too well so I guess I'll let it slide this time:) Thanks Dogster for the honor. It's nice to be picked again and a nice way to end our time with Dogster. We are all still sad about it, but hopefully mom gets us a blog. She has to talk to dad first to see if that's okay cause he's not big on her putting stuff out for the entire world to see. He's okay with us here, but hopefully he'll let us do that so we can keep in touch with our pals.

Not much happening around here. We were suppose to go to Country Meadows this week, but Barb couldn't go one night and last night mom wasn't feeling well so we just stayed home. Maybe we'll get to see them next week? We head to the cabin today and I can't wait! Weather is still suppose to be crappy, but at least we're in a new location:) This winter really stinks! We don't get to do much and I'm sooooo tired of it being so cold that mom can't be outside to even throw frisbee for a few minutes. Spring, please come soon!!

Whole lotta nuttin going on

This past weekend was a pretty boring one. Mom was gone most of the weekend, dinner with friends, search training with Echo and her and dad doing stuff Sunday. Dad was home with me on Saturday, but he was working on stuff for the farm layout so I just chilled. I guess it wasn't all that bad cause the weather is still really cold and that bothers my hip if I'm out in it too long. But I still wish I would have had something fun to do. But I guess it is winter and I should expect some boring down time. I wish I did that search stuff so I could at least spend more time with mom, but I really have no interest or ability in that at all so that's no fault of mom's.

I hope all my pals had a better weekend then I did and that you're staying warm out there. Hopefully I do something exciting this week to share with you all.

Snowy day

First of all, I just want to let everyone know that dad's surgery went well and he's doing fine. I'll let you all know how mom makes out after her test later today.

So I'm sure most of us had a very snowy Tuesday. I spent most of the day in the nice warm house while mom and dad were at the hospital, but after they got home and the snow stopped we went outside to blow the snow and that's when us doggies got to play a little. It was fun running around making the snow fly:) I like to bury my face and head under the snow then throwing it up in the air! We played for about an hour then I crashed the rest of the night. Even slept in bed with mom and dad last night too:)

I hope all my pals are safe and sound and get to enjoy some of the fun too!

Nice weekend

This past weekend we went to the cabin and it was a nice trip. Friday we got there before dark for a change so Echo and I played a little bit outside before it got dark. The rest of the night we just chilled watching TV with mom and dad.

Saturday was a fun day! Helene (a nice lady from PSU) came to visit us and help mom and dad with the farm layout at the property on Flint Hollow. The reason it was so fun was cuz us dogs got to go along and we ran around and played in the field the entire time:) We were there for a couple hours and it was cold, but we ran around so we kept warm. Then we went back to the cabin and took a nap while mom, dad and Helene talked about things. After Helene left mom took us for a Bota ride and we saw 4 deer! We ran around playing again then crashed the rest of the night. Of course, when I run around like that I pay for it the next day in my hips. It wasn't as bad though cause mom did give me a pill knowing that would happen. I know I shouldn't run around like that and mom tries to stop me, but I'm a dog who loves to run and play so it is what it is.

Sunday we headed home and watched football in the afternoon. Our team (the Patriots) lost:( We were not happy, but you can't win them all.

Tonight we are going to visit Manor Care. I don't think our friend Barb is going so looks like mom will take me since Echo has SAR training Saturday. I love Echo, but it will be nice to do a visit without her for a change.

As far as my week, I do know that dad has his surgery tomorrow and of course we're suppose to get 3-6" of snow. Poor mom. It always snows when dad isn't around or can't snow blow. Not only will mom have to drive in the snow cause of taking dad to hospital, but then she'll have to snow blow when she gets home too. As much as I feel bad for mom, I like the snow and will have lots of fun playing with Echo in it while mom blows the driveway:)

Wednesday mom has her dr. appt. so please say a prayer that all comes out okay.

We are home this upcoming weekend and I know that Echo has SAR training, but other than that, I don't think there is anything going on. I'll be sure to post if there is. I'm gonna take advantage of having Dogster for a little while longer that's for sure!

I hope everyone had a good weekend and stay warm and be safe during this next polar blast!
