A kinda boring weekend

So we did go to the cabin this past weekend, but I gotta tell you, it wasn't too exciting. Gizmo did go along with us again. I guess that is a permanent thing now. At first it bothered me, but it doesn't anymore cause when I want on the sofa, I jump up whether she's there or not.

When we got there Friday evening, it was pretty nice out, in the 50's. Mom said she wanted to go for a Kubota ride cause it was suppose to be crappy weather on Saturday. I was happy about the ride and couldn't wait to go. Echo and I rode to the top of the mountain in the back of the Kubota then we got out and ran and played. I love the mountains! It was so quiet, but unfortunately we didn't see any deer. We walked/ran the rest of the way back to the cabin and we even went on the other side of the street for a ride... sweet! But, that was the extent of our fun.

Saturday was crappy weather as predicted. Dad went someplace early and when mom got up we just hung out at the cabin. A bunch of dad's ridge runner buddies showed up around 11am and they just kept coming after that and never left until like 430pm. Mom was NOT happy! The problem is that they are soooo loud you can't even hear yourself think. I'm trying to nap and mom's trying to watch TV and they just talk louder and louder. When they finally left, daddy and Randy went somewhere and we finally had PEACE AND QUIET! Echo and I took a nap and mom watched TV. Daddy never got home until like 2 hours later and mom was NOT happy. Even though it was crappy weather, we were suppose to go to the property earlier cause they cleaned it up and take a little ride. Then dad was going to take mom to get a burger cause she was hungry for a burger. Well, til he finally got back, mom was so mad she didn't want to go and they either argued or didn't talk the rest of the evening. Dad said it wasn't his fault cause the guys were there, but I totally see mom's POV. She's there to relax too and it's kind of hard to do that when you have all these guys around talking like they're at a concert or something. Mom told him that he needs to figure out a way to keep them from staying so long. It went back and forth like that even into Sunday.

Yep, my Sunday was pretty crappy too. Weather wasn't too bad, but mom was still upset and dad just wanted to go home cause he was afraid someone would stop and make the argument worse and guess what? Someone did... Shuey. Mom didn't even let him get out of the truck. I don't know what she told him, but he left... thank goodness! We left shortly after that.

When we got home we didn't do anything. Mom did take us out later and threw frisbee a few times, but that was it. I sure hope my week goes better than my weekend that's all I have to say.

I didn't do too good:(

Last night mom, grandma, Echo and I went to visit at Country Meadows... and I didn't do too good:( Grandma had me at first and I didn't want anything to do with anyone. The people wanted to pet me and I would try to get away from them. I know, I know, I'm a therapy dog and I'm not suppose to do that, but for some reason I just didn't feel like visiting last night. Echo was just the opposite, a little too full of wanting to visit and was pushy. Mom said she didn't know what got into us girls and she wasn't very happy with us. But we did settle down a little and when mom took me, I did sit and let some people pet me. Hey, we all have bad days and I guess this was one of mine cause I really do like visiting people, just not into it last night.

Not sure what's up for the weekend. I did see mom getting some things together so I'm thinking maybe the mountains, but not sure. I'll be sure to tell you all about my weekend though whatever I do. Have a good weekend everyone!!!!

Fun at the barn

I hope everyone had a good weekend. I had a pretty good one that I'll tell you about.

Friday evening mom and I went to Manor Care for a visit. It was nice to see everyone and met some new people too. They were pretty chatt:) We gave Joe his Coast Guard license plate and he loved it! You couldn't wipe the smile off of his face if you tried:)

Saturday mom started spring cleaning in the morning cause it was still a little chilly out. She made us dogs stay outside (it wasn't too cold for us) since we like to attack the sweeper. I didn't mind though cause Echo and I played then relaxed on the deck. In the afternoon we went to the barn. Mom rode Sophie in the arena and on the trail. It was a lot of fun:) Mom did end up taking Echo since she knew she wouldn't get to take us for a walk later cause she had to finish cleaning. After our ride we ran to Home Depot with mom then back home for mom to finish cleaning.

Sunday I didn't do much. Mom and Echo had search training to I hung out at home. When dad got back from the mountains, he did let me hang with him outside when he replanted a tree for mom. When mom and Echo got home, she threw frisbee for us a little, then we all just relaxed the rest of the night.

Yesterday we were suppose to go to Country Meadows for a visit, but mom had a really bad migraine, she didn't even go to work. So us dogs just laid in bed with her and kept her company while she tried to get rid of it.

I'm not sure what's going on this week. I'm hoping we get to do more fun stuff since the weather is finally getting warmer. More walks would make me happy:D

Nice weekend ahead

Looks like we'll finally have a nice weekend coming our way and I'm glad. I'm kind of getting depressed being stuck in the house all the time. Mom promises that I'll get to do some fun stuff.

Last night I went along with mom, dad and Echo to the vet cause I didn't want to stay at home by myself. Well, I wish I wouldn't have gone cause they were in there furever! I don't go in with them, I just hang in the car, but usually it isn't that long, but not this time. Echo has a UTI so the vet did all kind of tests and x-rays and stuff (that's what sissy told me) so it took longer than normal. I was happy when they finally came back out.

Anyway, mom said tonight I'm going to Manor Care to visit and I'm happy about that. Mom found a Coast Guard license plate we're going to give to Joe since he was in the Coast Guard. I know he'll like it:) Tomorrow mom said I get to go to the barn with her for a trail ride and I can't wait! She undecided if Echo is going or not. She said I need some time wtih just her and I agree, I do. It seems like mom always has alone time with Echo and not me. However, I do like having Echo along on the trail to run with so I won't be real upset if she goes. Mom did say that she'll take both of us on a nature trail walk too. I'm excited that the weather will be nice and we'll spend it outside! The only part of my weekend I don't like is Sunday. Echo has search and rescue training so that means her and mom will be gone all day and I'll be stuck inside. I'm hoping dad comes home from the cabin kind of early and plays with me outside. I'm keeping my paws crossed!

Nala is soooo much fun!

Last night Brett and Chelsea stopped by to visit with Steve and they brought Nala along. I was really happy to see her and better yet, Echo wasn't. That meant that I had Nala all to myself!!! We played for hours and Echo didn't bother us one bit. I don't know why Echo didn't want to play and she was actually being down right mean to Nala too. She was lifting her lip and growling at her. Mom got upset and ended up muzzling Echo for a while cause she was afraid that she would snap at Nala. I don't know what Echo's problem was cause last time she had fun playing with Nala, but lucky for me that she was in a bad mood last night cause for the first time I had a friend all to myself! I was so good with her that I get to stay at Brett and Chelsea's house at the end of the month when mom and dad go away. I was going to stay home by myself and just have people come and let me out (Echo is going to Poppy Waple's or the kennel), but since I played so good with Nala, I get to stay with them. Yipee!!!!

Wooo Hooo! Dogster Diary Pick!

Thank you Dogster for choosing me for Diary Pick of the Day! It's been a while since I've had that honor and I am very grateful for it. We try to keep everyone up to date on my going ons, but sometimes my life isn't that exciting. I'm just glad you like what I've been up to and I'll do my best to keep it up!

Okay, onto what is happening now. Last night mom and dad's friend Steve arrived from California. He is very nice and very laid back. He loves dogs so he didn't mind when we barked at him and always wanted him to pet us. I think he was also so subdued cause he's sad that his dad passed away. I gave him some licks to let him know I was sorry he lost his dad. I can only imagine what he is going through cause mom went through it too when we lost grandpa. Very sad:( He stayed overnight cause the funeral is today. I'm being on my best behavior so as not to upset anyone in the house.

I got some bad news last night too. Nothing major, at least not to most. Mom told us last night that we WON'T be able to go swimming Saturday. I was really bumming cause I sooooo wanted to go. It's an indoor pool so it didn't matter if it was cold out and I haven't been swimming since like November. Mom said that the lady's calendar was all messed up and even though she had us marked for 1pm, the lady said we weren't in there and that all the other time slots were filled. I don't know that I'm buying that to be honest with you. We're not in the "click" so we get pushed out when they want in. Mom was really upset, but can't do anything about it. She promised that she will do something extra special with us that day since we can't go swimming.

So far, not a lot of snow here. In fact, we only have a dusting and that's starting to go away already. I'm sad cause I really wanted to play in the snow:( Mom said she can control many things, but the weather is not one of them. So I guess we'll just hang out in the house and wait for the nice weekend that lies ahead.

No much happening

I haven't posted in a while, but that's because not a whole lot has happened. Saturday mom and dad did take us to a place where there was a black lab this guy threw a frisbee for us. We played for about ten minutes then mom put us in the car. Mom said it was a kennel that they may put Echo when they go away for Alison's wedding. I'm sure glad mom didn't mention me staying cause I don't think I would do well in a kennel.

Sunday we did get to go to the barn with mom in the morning when she had barn duty. It was our first time to the new barn and it is cool! We played while mom did her duties, then headed back home. It was really windy and cold so we didn't do anything the rest of the day.

Monday dad had to take Echo for her Bordotella vaccine (I already had mine) and I got to ride along. Poppy Waple went with us too. That was my excitement for the day cause it was again very windy and cold so we didn't play outside when mom got home.

Tonight we're getting company. Dad's friend Steve from California is staying with us while he's in town for his dad's funeral. I think I met Steve before, but I'm not sure. It will be nice to have company cause we never get company. Oh and there's suppose to be a big snow storm coming our way tonight and tomorrow and I love the snow! I just hope it's not too cold some mom will play outside with us:)

Mom did tell me that Friday we're going to Manor Care, Saturday we suppose to go swimming at Coleen's and Monday back to Country Meadows if grandma goes along. So I do have a bit of a busy weekend. I'm glad cause I'm really tired of being stuck in the house.

That's about all I've been up to. All I can say is that I can't wait for the weather to warm up so we spend more time outside!!!!

A nice visit

Last night I went with mom to visit a lady from mom's church. Mom's a Deacon so once a month she visits with a member of the church who is homebound. I visited with a couple of them before and it's always nice. This time we visited at Frey Village and I've been there a couple times before just for regular visits like Manor Care. This time we only visited with Betty. She is really nice and pet me a couple times. We stayed for almost an hour and on our way out the lady at the front desk and another resident who was at the desk too really liked me so we stayed there for a few minutes. I got lots of pets and mom let the one lady give me some treats:) It was a nice visit and very relaxing.

I don't know what is on the agenda for this weekend. I know we're going to be home and I think I heard mom say we get to go to the barn with her one time this weekend when she takes care of the horses. Other than that, not much happening. Does look like better weather and a little warmer, into the 40's, so hopefully that means spring is on its way!

BTW, the vet said my lumps are nothing to worry about, just fatty deposits and common for my breed:)

Mom said I was good

We went to the mountains this past weekend. It wasn't the best weather so we didn't do too much, but we did get out on Sunday for some fun.

Friday we arrived and just chilled. Dad went ridge running to celebrate passing his test, mom and us dogs and Giz just watched Too Cute. Saturday it was damp and misty and even I didn't want to be outside much. Mom and dad went to a church dinner then to friends to play cards. Me, I chilled. Sunday was the day we had some fun. It was a little windy, but warmer (38 degrees). We went for a Kubota ride then mom and Echo did some search and rescue training, but this time, I got to go along. Mom made me stay with her and of Echo's way. At first I ran out to play with Echo, but when she ignored me and mom called me, I picked up on what was going on so I hung with mom. She told me I was very good and she was proud of me for letting sissy work. At least when mom and Echo were done, Echo and I chased each other around the field and had a blast! Needless to say we got muddy so had to get a shower to clean off. Mom and dad went to friends to watch the race and then we headed home around 5pm. I was pretty bushed from my fun day so I slept when we got home.

Today mom loaded us all up and took us to the vet. Teeth cleaning time! I'm not thrilled about going to the vet, but handscale teeth cleaning isn't too bad. Mom did show them my lumps so they're going to check those out. I'm sure they're nothing, but say a prayer for me just in case. Mom is really nervous, but hopefully they'll tell her they're nothing and she can stop poking at me all the time.

I'm not sure what's on the agenda for this week. I know I'm going to visit a lady from mom's church who is at Frey Village, but other than that, I have no idea. Mom does have barn duty all week, but it's in the morning so I don't know how many times we'll be able to go along since she'll go from the barn to work. Hopefully on the weekend we can go.

Happy 91st Birthday to Joe!!

My friend Joe from Manor Care turns 91 today... HAPPY BIRTHDAY! He looks good for 91 and I never get tired of his stories from those 91 years of his life. I wish I would have gotten to see him last night to wish him a happy birthday in person, but mom took Echo. I was REALLY upset too and dad kept making mom feel bad when she got home for not taking me instead of Echo. I know I went to Country Meadows last week and I'm going to Frey next week so mom was right taking Echo, but I really wanted to go. We were both suppose to go cause Grandma said she was going to go along which meant we both could go, but then she canceled out at the last minute and that made me sad:'( But what's a dog to do? Mom and Echo took him some balloons and a pix of me and Echo so at least he knows I was thinking of him too. I'll give him extra kisses next time I see him.

We're heading to the cabin for the weekend, but I don't think we'll get to do much cause more yucky weather is coming our way. It seems like it's always bad weather anymore when we go to the cabin. Don't get me wrong, it's nice to just get away, but I really miss running in the field, going for Kubota rides and having fun outside. Mom said spring will soon be here, but I'm here to tell you, it can't get here fast enough for me!!
