Still kinda icky

Mom and Dad have been super, super wonderful to me since I am sick. I really believe that they would rather be sick than see me too! What a coincidence!

Mom has been keeping a diary on my symptoms, etc. in case she needs to take me back to the vet and today she has to add puking overnight. I puked clear liquid three times last night. Mom called the vet and he said to try to give me crushed ice twice a day. I'm thinking I need some strawberry flavoring on that crushed ice but, apparently that is not what the vet says.

I seem to be coughing a lot more when I move around so mom and dad are trying to make me stay calm. I have been unusually calm anyway. I kinda sit on the loveseat and stare around as if to say "ugh".

Hope all is better soon because I miss running and playing with my fursisters and furbrother...even though he is not much of a player.

I had kennel cough! We are all very confused! Mommy has all of us vaccinated every time we are due for anything. I am not sure why she does the kennel cough vaccine because she refuses to let us stay anywhere but home with an in-house pet sitter when they go anywhere but, she does.

Doc said we caught it really early (I started coughing last night) so it may get a little worse before it gets better but I had like four shots today (polyflex, vitamin B12, diphenhydramine, and aminophylline) and have two prescriptions (cephalexine and hydroxyzine). WHEW! Those are some hard words to type with furry paws! Doc also said that mommy and daddy could have brought it home when they went to get Chleo and, because they can't control themselves, petted EVERY DOG THEY SAW! Geez!

Anyway, just wanted to update everyfur and thank ALL of you for your kinds words and inspiratinal pawresents!

Have great...(cough, hack, slobber}...week!

I have to go to the vet this afternoon to get checked out fur a really bad cough I started having overnight. Mom is worried because we always get our vaccines on time, including the canine swine flu as well as bordatella…and mommy refuses to board us so I am not even sure why she makes us get that icky stuff up our nose. When mommy talked to the vet’s assistant she was freaked out because she told her that dogs with heart problems present with a cough that is worse overnight. Pawlease pray for me and my mom’s sanity…she worries A BUNCH! Love to all my Dogsters out there!!

We have been abandoned!

PLEASE NOTIFY THE PEOPLE WITH TREATS! We are in desperate need of "help"! I knew it was bad when I heard mommy asking daddy to make sure he told his boss he was taking vacation! I know dirty words and I KNOW "vacation" is a word so dirty most dogs dare not repeat!

Unfortunately, we are painfully aware of what they are doing as soon as they start sorting their clothes in proper order and adding them to bags. They are not usually that organized. Even better hint was when mom came home early today and began frantically adding said packed items into one of their vehicles! To seal the deal, daddy came home, changed his clothes & they (mom and dad) spent special time with each of us individually, letting us know how much they love us

As you can tell from my entry dad and mom are gone! They went on vacation!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will make a point to pee on their pillows...if not me (guilty verdict averted, it will be one of us. At least we have grandpaw to stay with us for the entire time!

I have been tagged!!!!!

None of us have ever been tagged before and I am excited to be the first. THANK YOU TO MY FURRIEND MARUKO!!!!

Here are my tag game questions:

1. Do you ever wake your parents up in the night? No, I let Tina do that fur me. She is easily manipulated so, I simply let her know I want them up and she jumps on one of their heads - or simply barks really loud.

2. Do you ever tear up things? Not when anyone is looking. Austin does that.

3. What is your favorite treat? Food left on the kitchen counter.

4. Can you fetch something when asked to do so? I don't fetch. I like to play but have never been a fetcher. I enjoy giving mom and dad that "what the heck are you doing" look when they throw something and want me to go get it. That is why Braun is here. BOL!

5. Have you ever lived any place other than where you live now? I have and it was a VERY bad place. I choose not to think about it. They were bad people.

OK - my tag came with 5 questions and I think we should add 1 question as we forward. Here is the new question:

6. Do you like to ride in the car?

Swine Flu

I am sure all of you dogs know that we now have yet another shot we must add to our yearly visits to the Vet. I got my fist canine version of the Swine Flu vaccine a couple of weeks ago and had to go back this Saturday (right before Independence Day!) for my second booster. Those of you that know my story know I HATE leaving the house. I am a very outgoing, loving dog WHEN I AM HOME. I hate going out the front door as it means I am leaving the house. I love our back yard.

I knew something was up when Mommy let all the others out in the back yard and I stayed in. That usually leads to the one inside being lassoed up and out the front door to an unknown fate. I put up quite the resistance when she tried to put that body leash on me. I ran from couch to love seat to lounge chair and repeated the process. I knocked all the blankets off each piece of furniture (my pawrents use those to keep their hair off the furniture) until…DADDY stepped in. He picked me up and put me on the coffee table, a place I am sure we are not supposed to be, and PUT THE BODY LEASH ON ME! I immediately freaked out and FROZE in place. Mom thought me freezing was funny so she decided to lengthen my suffering by making a “video” of me frozen on the coffee table. As you can tell from the video of which she added to my page, I could only move my tongue and eyeballs. Evidence of all the blankets I pulled off the furniture are evident in the background.

As if it wasn’t bad enough she was laughing to tears at me, she the decided to make a video of me at the Vet where I hide under the benches, frozen once again. I must say, I was happy as heck to get home. I will be discussing the embarrassing video with Dad after the Holiday to see if I can get him to have mom remove my embarrassing video. Until then, enjoy!

Mommy and Daddy thought it best to have my golden locks of hair cut off since it has been sooo hot in Georgia and I have been panting like crazy. I wasn't much of a fan when the idea first came up but, I feel so much cooler now. Never thought I would enjoy running around the back yard "nekkid" but I do like it...ALOT! Wonder how the neighbors feel about my nekkidness???? Who cares, I am HOT!

The glass.

Mom came home the other afternoon from work and all of us were so very excited to see her that we all ran to the window to watch her get out of her car (check her hands for any new toys or treats) and come to the front door where we would all gather and try to help her get the door open. She tells us we aren't helping because we are blocking the other side, but, I see it differently. Once we got to the window it became painfully obvious that neither Mom or Dad cleaned our slobber off the window over the past weekend so we were having a hard time seeing. Well, one of us (HEHEHE) knew what to do...we busted the window out! BOL! You should have seen the look on mommy's face. She was so surprised. Once she ran in to make sure none of us cut ourselves she started laughing at us. I think she might have been in shock. None of us would admit to who actually did the "breaking" of the glass but, I will tell you, I do not jump on the windows anymore...not even the back sliding glass door. Do you think that is a dead give-away? I hope not cuz I was banking on some Frosty Paws this weekend! BOL!
