Oh my golly - gosh -geewhiz! Today I got a big ol' bright red smoochie pair of lips on my page and I don't know who it is from! It just says....xoxo. HD hugs himself and *grins* real big. Valentines Day is coming....................

Harley's Hi-Lites- Happy New Year!

Hello everyfurrybody! I'm sending lots of Harley hugs to all of my pals and their furmilies for a healthy and happy New Year! I was a busy schnauzer boy this year working with second graders at an elementary school and visiting two hospitals every week. Gosh, I have the bestest job in the whole wide world getting lots of love and pats from everyone. Mom, Sophie Claire and I want to wish each and everyone of you Happy New Years and we look forward to our wonderful friendships in the coming year!

Harley's Hi-Lites - My Week so far and its only Tueday!

Well we were trying to sleep early Sunday morning round 2:12 am when all of a sudden the house started shaking and a loud noise started up! Well mom said I shot out from under the covers like a rocket. Sophie Claire got tangled in the covers and mom had to help her and then we all took off for the living room. Mom said to us, I think that was an earthquake. Well, it took her 20 minutes to convince me that the bed was OK to sleep in. Our Sunday went very well until about 9:57 and we were on our way to the bedroom when the house really started shaking and it got real loud and it lasted about 1 minute. Jeesh, it was an aftershock cause mom got on the internet and it was a 5.6! OK, Monday was good cause I got to go visit some second graders at a school and spend the afternoon with them. We gets home and the rain starts. We had storms most of the evening and then, you guessed it, another aftershock of 4.7. HD *grins* I SLEPT RIGHT THROUGH IT PUPS! Sophie Claire finally had enough and she barked real loud at it and there was tornado's and flooding throughout the state. Soooo, I guess what they say is true. If you don't like Oklahoma's weather, just stick around a couple of hours and it will change.

Harley's Hi-Lites - Dogster of the Day!

Well momma was gettin me all cleaned up this morning for my therapy dog visits and we were running behind on the computer. She pulled up her emails and started to see all these messages about me getting some pressies and as she went down the list there was the message from Dogster saying I was Dogster of the Day! Well momma and I are totally overwhelmed with all of the emails, pmails, FB messages and pressies that I have received today and I got 3 new pup pal request too! I am so very lucky to have so many furiends and their pawents here on this Dogster thing and I know that our lives have changed because of this. We want to thank all of you because we know that everyday you all are there for us as we try to be for all of you. Momma and I surely do enjoy our therapy dog work and momma says she never, ever would have been able to do this without me. I love meeting all of the peeps and making them smile when they don't feel very good and the doctors and nursing staff love to laugh and pet me.
We dogs are amazing in what we can do!!!!!!! As my sister, Sophie Claire would say " sending big ol' smoochies to each and everyone of you". Again, thank you for making this such a very special day for me and Thank You Dogster!

Harley's Hi-Lites - Remember 9/11

We all can tell each other exactly where we were 10 years ago today when the first plane struck the Twin Tower. Our hearts go out to each and every person who lost a loved one that day. I also remember being in Oklahoma City the day of the Oklahoma bombing with my mother and dad at the hospital. Dad and I were in a waiting room as my mom was having a procedure when all of a sudden the whole hospital lifted up and sat right down. My former boss was the last body to be found. Life is so precious but how lucky we are to be able to live in a county where citizens are willing to jump in to help anyway they can during such horrible attacks. We in America have so much to be thankful for. Our great military who fight to keep this country free. God Bless America.

Harley's Hi-Lites -

Well Wednesday morning early I got my bath and brushing and momma and I headed to the hospital to visit the patients and staff. We went to the ICU and its a good day when we have some patients that are alert and want to visit with me. I got to get in bed with a real nice lady and she put her arm around me and started giving me nice pats and I just curled right up. Her husband and friends came in and boy were they surprised to see a doggy in bed! He pulled my momma to the side and told her that they had just put their 14 year old poodle to sleep and this was great that I came to visit. They all looked over at us in the bed and you know what? I WAS SOUND ASLEEP! The lady patient smiled and thanked momma for bringing me to her. They all started to laugh and that woke me up and I looked around at all of them. I guess that is a first for me and I told momma I guess you would call that a "cat nap". BOL

Here in Oklahoma we have a rescue dog named Patience who also is a Therapy Dog and is deaf! Petsmart Charities are having a contest and have narrowed it down to 10 animals and Patience is one of them. Woooohoooooo! Harley's HiLites - My 6th Birfday

Well as soon as mom opened her eyes she said "Happy Birthday Harley Davidson" and I just piled on top of her and we had fun in bed! We all got up and mom fixed us a special birthday breakfast with some of my new birthday treats. That afternoon I got my birfday cake and Sophie and I hadda wear dumb hats before we got any. Grrrrrrr. Anyways, I wanna thank all of my pals for sending me emails, pressies, steaks, balls, bluebirds, etc. You all are the best and I hope I don't furgets any of my pals in my Thank You List. You guyes are the best!

P.S. I gots to thank my best buddy Sebastian cause he sent me all kinds of goodies from The Three Dog Bakery and they are yummy.

Harley's Hi-Lites - Visits with Tornado Victims

Momma got me up early this morning and said we have to get you in the sink for a bath and then dry and groom you HD. Momma got us both ready to go and she put my vest and my special hospital ID with my picture on it and off we went in the car. The hospital we went to today had quite a few of the tornado injured and we first started out in the E.R. and it was full and I was able to help lots of the peeps and puts smiles on their faces. On the way to ICU a lady was going down the hallway crying and she stopped me and said, you are just what I needed today. She got down on the floor with me and I tried to lick some of her tears away and she laughed! I was sure happy bout that. ICU was real busy and the waiting room was filled and momma and I made the rounds with a visit to each person. Next we went to pediatrics and the little toots were glad to see a puppy making rounds instead of the doctors, BOL! Then we had a request to make a visit with a lady who was disabled and was injured in the tornado and her service dog did not make it. She was so sad when I first got in her room and she was all banged up, but momma put me in her bed and she was able to pet me and that made her smile. We talked a long time with her and she did have her other puppy and he survived so we were glad bout that. We love this hospital because they are a storm shelter for people too and they let the peeps bring their pets with them! They said they had dogs, cats, rabbits and ferrets there Tueday during the storm. Well after two hours I told momma that I was getting pretty tired and she OK HD, I think you did a great job today. I slept all the way home, I was a very tired little Therapy Dog.
