Yestfurday morning mommy changed me into my red-white-and-blue collar and leash. Here's what always happens when I wear that: we get in the car and go someplace where mommy and daddy eat outside, and I get extra treats and sometimes some of their food drops on the ground and then it's MINE. Yestfurday I got a couple of crackers. Mommy and daddy were watching a bunch of humans wearing red coats and making noise with shiny things in their mouths. After that we went walking where I sniffed a lot of trees and flowers, and then we came home. I was still tired from the day before, but every time I drifted off something would go BANG! and I had to bark. It was a long night.

Today I got to spend the day at the Wag. I was still pretty tired, but I went to two play groups. Here is my report card: "I made new friends named Coco and Sammy and Moody and Sampson. Coco, Sammy and I had a cocker spaniel love fest during playgroup. We were 'unseparatable!' I am so sweet and all of the Wag staff love me. I enjoyed my day stay!" I love the Wag people, too, but I was sure happy to see mommy and daddy when they came to get me. Boy, am I gonna sleep tonight!

Worth the trip!

Today started like most other days, with me waking daddy up early. That's one of my jobs. Today, though, mommy and I didn't say bye-bye daddy. Instead, all of us got in the car and went for a l-o-o-n-g ride. We didn't go to the place where we usually go, where the grapes grow. On this ride the ocean was on my mommy's side of the car instead of my daddy's, and the ride was a lot longer.

When we got there, I got to go off-leash, and there was the ocean! Now, I don't like the water and I was very careful not to get too close. Not like daddy, who got his feet all wet. Mommy and I stayed dry and just walked in the sand. Well, mommy walked. I mostly ran, back and forth between mommy and daddy. There were lots of other dogs there, and their very nice people. I remembered this place. We've been there before. The sand there is like soap powder, all soft and white. And there is a funny kind of green stuff, some kind of plant that smells like the ocean. I don't know what it is, but I peed on as much of it as I could.

We walked all the way to the end of the beach and back again. I was so tired and thirsty, even though I had drinks of water along the way. I thought we'd get in the car and go home then, but I forgot there is also a town, with places mommy and daddy like to go in and look at human stuff. Usually, that means one of them goes inside and the other waits with me outside. But in this town, I can go right in every place with them. I see why they like it! I never smelled so many different things in one day! I met a lot of dogs in the town, too. And the best place of all was full of dog toys and treats and leashes and bowls and, well, just everything! What a great place!

The drive back was also long. By the time we got home it was dark out. Daddy is already asleep on the couch, and I'm going to bed, too. Good night!

The Chocolate Pearl

The days I love the best are when mommy and I don't have to say "Bye-bye daddy" in the morning. This morning daddy and I got up early as usual, but after our walk around the block we curled up on the couch and pretty much stayed there. Eventually mommy got up and went out and came back again with bags of human food and some bully sticks for me. By that time daddy was ready to go out, too, so he took me to Fort Fun where I ran and played and met some very nice furs! Then we all got in the car and went to the place where sometimes daddy gets out and mommy and I come back home without him. That's when the real fun began!

You see, I've been lugging this pirate ship all over Dogster for days and days, looking for a pool to launch it in. I went to one pool party last week, but no one was there. But yesfurday my pal Mini invited me to another one, and it was today. Wowf, was it fun! When I got there I took a running jump and SPLASHED! into the pool with my ship, now christened the Chocolate Pearl, and sailed around playing pirate games with a great fur named Checkers. "Avast thar!" "Shiver me timbers!" (I'm a pretty fierce pirate!) More and more furs came, including Mini, and Daisy, and so many more I can't even name them, and we splashed and floated and ate and there was music and we just had a furrific time. Then a HUGE INTRUDER came! At first we couldn't see him, but it was an elephant! And he was trying to drink all the water out of the pool! But someone had brought giant peanuts and we used them to lure him away and I even put them in my ship's cannons and BOOM! BOOM! ran him off! I also found a treasure with my map, but I'm keeping that secret for another time.

Well, we were just playing, of course, but I really love my pirate boat that Frodo gave me and I think it's sea-worthy enough to last the whole summer! Long live the Chocolate Pearl!

Report Card

I got to spend the day at the Wag again today. Sometimes I get a report card; sometimes they forget. Today I got one, and it says:

"Hershey is SUCH a friendly, happy guy, and we love having him in playgroups. Today he especially liked Mia and Tony the chihuahua mixes, but he really gets along with everybody. What a good boy!"

That made mommy and daddy very happy!

Arf, am I ever tired...!

Before I forget...

Here's what happens: By the time mom's ready to bring me to Dogster it's already almost bedtime. I make a few visits to my groups, say woof to a few furiends, play a few games and before you know it, it's time for night-night and I haven't written in my diary. So tonight I'm starting here.

I wanted to tell you about last weekend before I forget. It started on Friday, when I got to spend the whole day at the Wag playing, while mommy and daddy went off somewhere. I have so much fun there! There are always a bunch of other dogs to play with, and humans to make sure we have fun and water and toys and stuff. I was so tired when I got home!

The next day we got in the car again, but this time I didn't get dropped off anywhere. Instead, we drove across the orange bridge and up to the place my mommy loves. (She calls it the whine country, but I don't know why because she's always happy there!) We went to to a place we've never been, with fields and trees and long trails I could run on off-leash. WhoooHoooooo!! I had so much fun!! Then we explored some other places where humans can eat and stuff, and last of all a store I could go in, where daddy bought me a cookie and a pupcake for later. By the time we got home, I was almost too tired to eat my dinner! Then I had to get a major brushing, because of the foxtails.

The next day I found myself back at the Wag. Not for an all-day play this time. Oh no, I was still much too worn out for that. This time I got my own room where I could just sleep--after the morning play group! Well, a guy can always play. But then I really crashed. I was up for the afternoon play group, though, and the weather was so nice we all got to go up on the roof! That's a special treat because the regular play groups are indoors. I like to be outside! It was almost (ALMOST!) disappointing when mommy and daddy came to get me.

That was Sunday. Yesterday I was so tired I didn't even help mommy with the laundry like I usually do, and the only walk we took was just around the block. Today I went to the groomer. Boy was I dirty! BOL!! It felt so good to get the hair out of my eyes finally. And Michelle found a foxtail mommy had missed. The bath relaxes me so much, I think I'll just sleep for the next three days! (I hear I'm going to the Wag again tomorrow...I hope I can catch up on my sleep!)

Mum was up late last night and was looking at my adorable pictures and suddenly she got hungry. She thinks I look like vanilla ice cream with warm caramel. She thinks I look like food! Help keep me safe from the ice cream snatcher!

What a cute game that would be!

I am going to start a new game! Here we go......

I am going to tag 10 friends and tell them what kind of ice cream I look like. Then you need to tag 10 friends and tell them what kind of ice cream you look like.

Lets see if it comes back to me! Just make a copy of this and put it in your diary so everyone knows what flavor you look like! Sprinkles count too!

I look like...kahlua or espresso ::drooling!::

Today I was named Member of the Week in my Love of Pups 'n' Cats group! It's a fun group where we play games and have a good time making furiends. I hope you'll come by to visit, and even join the group! I feel so honored!

It was a good way to end a kind of not-so-good week. Mommy thought one of my ears was looking a little too pink, so she's been putting drops in my ears all week. Even though I've made it VERY clear that I do NOT appreciate that. Finally she ran 0ut of the drops, so this morning we went to see my vet dogter and he gave her more. In fact he gave her a nice big bottle, because she uses it for a lot of things. She calls it my "magic juice." I call it a nuisance!

As if that wasn't bad enough, mommy also tattled on me, that I had been chewing on my paw. The dogter couldn't find anything wrong--because there IS nothing wrong, I just like to keep my paws clean! But then they decided it would be a good idea to clip the fur on my paws real short. This is the vet dogter, mind you, NOT Michelle my groomer! I tried to explain that I do NOT like anyone messing with my paws, but no one would listen and everyone was pinning me down and the clippers were buzzing and tickling and I was not having any fun AT ALL.

But then we were done and I got a treat at the front desk, so I guess it was a good visit after all! I really like going to the vet.

The Wedding

Today was Lexi and Dino's wedding. I know Lexi from the Paw*It*Forward group. I've never really been to a Dogster social event before. Oh, I was looking forward to it so much! I even got there half an hour early! The chapel was just bootiful, with flowers everywhere. I put my gift on the table and found a seat. I was there as the wedding party began to take their places, Bille-Bob came and read a bootiful letter from Lexi to her pawrents, the music started, and then...and then...

Then the stoopid compooter farted (as Mini would say), and went blank for the next TWO HOURS!!! Not only did I miss the ceremony, but most of the reception as well. It took mommy and daddy both bopping buttons and moving cords and wiggling jigglies to get the pooter going again. By the time I got to the reception, Lexi and Dino were just leaving, and so had all my furiends. There was still lots of food, so it wasn't a total loss. But I'm pretty disappointed :::sigh:::

Oh, well. It wasn't my day, it was theirs. Pawrayers for you, Lexi and Dino, and all my best wishes!!
