I got to spend the day at the Wag again today. Sometimes I get a report card; sometimes they forget. Today I got one, and it says:
"Hershey is SUCH a friendly, happy guy, and we love having him in playgroups. Today he especially liked Mia and Tony the chihuahua mixes, but he really gets along with everybody. What a good boy!"
That made mommy and daddy very happy!
Arf, am I ever tired...!

Here's what happens: By the time mom's ready to bring me to Dogster it's already almost bedtime. I make a few visits to my groups, say woof to a few furiends, play a few games and before you know it, it's time for night-night and I haven't written in my diary. So tonight I'm starting here.
I wanted to tell you about last weekend before I forget. It started on Friday, when I got to spend the whole day at the Wag playing, while mommy and daddy went off somewhere. I have so much fun there! There are always a bunch of other dogs to play with, and humans to make sure we have fun and water and toys and stuff. I was so tired when I got home!
The next day we got in the car again, but this time I didn't get dropped off anywhere. Instead, we drove across the orange bridge and up to the place my mommy loves. (She calls it the whine country, but I don't know why because she's always happy there!) We went to to a place we've never been, with fields and trees and long trails I could run on off-leash. WhoooHoooooo!! I had so much fun!! Then we explored some other places where humans can eat and stuff, and last of all a store I could go in, where daddy bought me a cookie and a pupcake for later. By the time we got home, I was almost too tired to eat my dinner! Then I had to get a major brushing, because of the foxtails.
The next day I found myself back at the Wag. Not for an all-day play this time. Oh no, I was still much too worn out for that. This time I got my own room where I could just sleep--after the morning play group! Well, a guy can always play. But then I really crashed. I was up for the afternoon play group, though, and the weather was so nice we all got to go up on the roof! That's a special treat because the regular play groups are indoors. I like to be outside! It was almost (ALMOST!) disappointing when mommy and daddy came to get me.
That was Sunday. Yesterday I was so tired I didn't even help mommy with the laundry like I usually do, and the only walk we took was just around the block. Today I went to the groomer. Boy was I dirty! BOL!! It felt so good to get the hair out of my eyes finally. And Michelle found a foxtail mommy had missed. The bath relaxes me so much, I think I'll just sleep for the next three days! (I hear I'm going to the Wag again tomorrow...I hope I can catch up on my sleep!)

WHISKEY MADE THIS GAME UP!!! He wrote:
Mum was up late last night and was looking at my adorable pictures and suddenly she got hungry. She thinks I look like vanilla ice cream with warm caramel. She thinks I look like food! Help keep me safe from the ice cream snatcher!
What a cute game that would be!
I am going to start a new game! Here we go......
I am going to tag 10 friends and tell them what kind of ice cream I look like. Then you need to tag 10 friends and tell them what kind of ice cream you look like.
Lets see if it comes back to me! Just make a copy of this and put it in your diary so everyone knows what flavor you look like! Sprinkles count too!
I look like...kahlua or espresso ::drooling!::

Today I was named Member of the Week in my Love of Pups 'n' Cats group! It's a fun group where we play games and have a good time making furiends. I hope you'll come by to visit, and even join the group! I feel so honored!
It was a good way to end a kind of not-so-good week. Mommy thought one of my ears was looking a little too pink, so she's been putting drops in my ears all week. Even though I've made it VERY clear that I do NOT appreciate that. Finally she ran 0ut of the drops, so this morning we went to see my vet dogter and he gave her more. In fact he gave her a nice big bottle, because she uses it for a lot of things. She calls it my "magic juice." I call it a nuisance!
As if that wasn't bad enough, mommy also tattled on me, that I had been chewing on my paw. The dogter couldn't find anything wrong--because there IS nothing wrong, I just like to keep my paws clean! But then they decided it would be a good idea to clip the fur on my paws real short. This is the vet dogter, mind you, NOT Michelle my groomer! I tried to explain that I do NOT like anyone messing with my paws, but no one would listen and everyone was pinning me down and the clippers were buzzing and tickling and I was not having any fun AT ALL.
But then we were done and I got a treat at the front desk, so I guess it was a good visit after all! I really like going to the vet.

Today was Lexi and Dino's wedding. I know Lexi from the Paw*It*Forward group. I've never really been to a Dogster social event before. Oh, I was looking forward to it so much! I even got there half an hour early! The chapel was just bootiful, with flowers everywhere. I put my gift on the table and found a seat. I was there as the wedding party began to take their places, Bille-Bob came and read a bootiful letter from Lexi to her pawrents, the music started, and then...and then...
Then the stoopid compooter farted (as Mini would say), and went blank for the next TWO HOURS!!! Not only did I miss the ceremony, but most of the reception as well. It took mommy and daddy both bopping buttons and moving cords and wiggling jigglies to get the pooter going again. By the time I got to the reception, Lexi and Dino were just leaving, and so had all my furiends. There was still lots of food, so it wasn't a total loss. But I'm pretty disappointed :::sigh:::
Oh, well. It wasn't my day, it was theirs. Pawrayers for you, Lexi and Dino, and all my best wishes!!

Today was Dog Day at Parkmerced. They were announcing the winner of the Dog Ambassador contest. Four dogs got added to the ballot, so there were seven in all. We had high hopes, especially when only two of the other candidates weren't even there. It was a fun day, with music and food for the humans, and lots of treats and toys for all of us furs. We met people who walk dogs, and people who groom dogs, and people who take photos of dogs, and people who sell food and stuff for dogs. Some of my friends from the Wag Hotel were there, and a lot of furiends from the neighborhood.
They had other contests. One was a doggie fashion show. (I didn't enter that one. All I ever wear is my collar and leash.) One was for doing tricks. (I didn't enter that one either, but daddy thought we should have. I can shake hands!) One was called "Mini Me," and it was for owners and dogs who look alike. Mommy and I entered that one and WE WON!! It's because her long hair looks like my long ears. BOL!! I got a medal, and mommy and daddy got concert tickets and a coupon for a massage--whatever that is.
But when the time came to announce the Pet Ambassador, the winner was Buddy the Basset. We were disappointed, but he's a nice dog and it will be fun to see his photo all over. His daddy was very happy! I was very tired by that time, and ready to come home!

I feel so much better! Today I got to go spend the day with Michelle, my groomer. I really needed a haircut and a bath--even though it'll take me awhile to get my nice doggie odor back again. Since it's spring (even though it's rainy here this week), I got most of my long winter coat trimmed away. That'll make it a lot more fun when we go running and playing in the warmer weather. And it'll be easier for mommy to find burrs and foxtails before they do me any harm.
While I was gone, mommy got a message that I'm in the running for Parkmerced Pet Ambassador. (Parkmerced is the name of the apartment community where we live.) Two other furs are also running, and people will vote on their compooters. On May 16 they're having a Dog Day event, and the winner will be announced then. The Pet Ambassador will be the spokesfur for four-legged residents of Parkmerced for a whole year! I don't know yet who the other two furs are.
So now I'm in two photo contests! Since I don't do tricks or agility or anything, this is the easiest kind of contest for me to enter. Winning would be fun, but just getting my photo out there is a big thrill for my mom!

I've been on Dogster for eight or nine months, and I've joined several groups. But I didn't really know what it was all about until the beginning of April when I started to sniff around and play a couple of games here and there. Soon I made a new pal, Mini, and she invited me to be an admin in the Furiends Furever group. I didn't even know what that meant! But I said okay, and before I knew it I had a LOT of new pals and I've been having a LOT of fun! I like word games especially, and Mini taught me how to do "hover" games. Those are not only fun, but we learn a lot about all kinds of things. Best of all, I make at least one new furiend almost every day. Now I make my rounds most every evening, visiting different groups. Sometimes I meet furiends and we play together. I've won some prizes! And sometimes someone is lost or sicky, and we pawray together or swap advice.
I've been so busy, I haven't had time to update my diary!
When I'm not on Dogster, I'm enjoying the longer spring days. We've been to the ginormous dog park at Pt. Isabel twice. Next week I'm going to the groomer to get my summer haircut. That's so I can run around and not worry so much about burrs and foxtails. (Although mommy always gets the comb out when we come back from an adventure. I don't really mind except when she messes with my feet!)
Also, mommy has entered me in a photo contest at the local shopping mall. If anyone reading this lives near Serramonte Mall (you know who you are!), I'd appreciate your vote! I'm Number 0037. You have to go there in person, so I know most of my Dogster pals can't help. Mommy says that's okay, she's just proud to see my photo up on the wall there!
Also if you're reading this, please say a pawrayer for my furiend Baxter, who still hasn't found his way home.
**Special note to my Firecracker: Are you free on May 24? I thought you might like to go to Lexi's wedding with me. ::licks::
