Arrival Story:
I adopted Buckwheat 3 weeks after my Boxer Dutchess passed away. Our eyes met & that was all he wrote it was love at 1st site. He was 4 months old when I got him & we have been together for over 12 years.

Bio:
Buckwheat is also big brother to Brett a 11yo Rotti/Husky mix, Zoey a 6yo Husky/Greyhound mix, Sammy a 6 yo Lab /Pit mix, Buddy a FAT Jack Russell, Precious a 7 yo Chow mix and Mooki a 11 yo Chuha/Pom mix. All of my brothers & sisters are all either pound pups or rescues. We all get along really well & mom even lets us all sleep on the bed with her. In March of 2009 I had to bring Buckwheat to the emergency vet his breathing was rapid & he could not get comfortable. Long story short the ER vet made him comfy for the night & I brought him to my regular vet the next day, after doing Xrays & exams Dr. Gars told me my Bucky boy has a mass on his heart that is bigger than his heart & one on his stomach. He also had trouble swollowing & the Dr. said his windpipe is colapsing. Dr. gave me options. The one I chose was to put him on meds. The doc said I was buying time ( he's not suffering nor in pain). Thank GOD the meds are helping alot. I'm just not ready to say goodbye, Buck is my heart, my soul, my love. I'll know when it's time & I'll do the right thing for him.

Well mom did it again!

Well Mom did it again. Mom had to drive dad to work this morning & the drive is about 45 minutes down a 2 lane road. It's a beautiful drive because there are wonderful horse farms all around. So while looking at all the horses on both sides of the road mom saw 2 puppies very close to the busy highway. It was very foggy out & she new in her heart that if she didn't turn around the puppies would have been hit by a car. Well mom & dad got them out of the road & looked for there home. They met up with a young boy who knew where they lived. Mom knocked on the door & the people said they were going to the pound. Well mom & dad couldn't let that happen so they took them. Mom dropped dad at work & she headed to the Humane Society ( a no kill compound) but they were overloaded & had no room. They told her to check back in a few days. As you all know there are 6 pups in the house already. So mom put the puppies in the garage ( central a/c in there with fans blowing). The first thing mom did was feed them & give them fresh water. They are so skinny! She also gave them some deworming medicine. Mom is waiting for dad to get home so that he can help introduce the puppies to the family. I hope they all get along. I have know idea what mom & dad are going to do with them, but I do know they wouldn't let anything bad happen to them. So if you are kind enough to take the time to read all of this, I ask you please say a pray for these 2 sweet puppies & that mom & dad can find them a good home.

WOW what a great way to be honored! When mom gets to work in the morning the first thing she does is check her email. Well BAM!!! there it was ME dog of the day. And then the tears started flowing. She's had a really hard time since me & Mookie have been gone & this was just magical to her. The love & support from all my furend on dogster is incredable and I want to thank you all. I'm not able to walk side by side with my family anymore but mommy knows that Mookie & I are always with her & daddy. Mommy says she would give up everything if she could just spend one more day with us.
(From Tori the mommy)...
I have been truly bless that these wonderful dogs chose me to be their mommy.

Today was a very sad day. My mommy & daddy had to let me go to the rainbow bridge today. When mommy got home she was so worried about me. I was having a hard time breathing & was choking. I have been having health problems for awhile but it hasn't been this bad for a couple of months. Mommies been giving me medicine to help me & just recently she's had to double it. This wasn't good. I have not been in any pain, it's just been getting harder to breath. The last time I saw the Doctor he took an xray & said my throat was closing up. That's were the choking came it, but the meds helped alot until today. My bother Mookie went to the bridge on June 12th 2009, he was my bestest friend & I knew it was time to be with him. I was hoping to make it to my 13th birthday but I guess God has a bigger plan for me.
