My Final Words

Well, I haven't been feeling very well the last few days. Actually its been longer than that but I didn't want Mom to know so I tried to act normal. It's finally gotten too much for me to hide. Mom knows I'm really tired now and that I'm about ready to go meet my dear brother Clyde at the Bridge. I'm sure he'll have lots of things to show me. I hope they have a woods there so we can go hunt together like we used to when we were young. It was so fun to run and sniff all the wonderful scents. I've missed playing with him these last couple of years. I can't wait to wrestle him to the ground like I used to. He was always bigger but I was a better wrestler and liked to try and take the big boy down.

Just wanted to say good-bye to all my furiends here at dogster. It's been wonderful getting to play with all of you.

Smelly! Phew!

Ok, now as far as I'm concerned I smell great, but Mom thinks I rolled in something dead. I mean, I did roll in something dead, but that was the whole point, I wanted a little perfume. It's not my fault that Mom doesn't share my taste in good smells. So then I had to get a bath, but that only really made it worse. Now the whole house has a feint smell of my 'perfume'! Mom should be thanking me. Humph!

New Bed!

I gots a new bed by my window! The old one was fine, but Mom said it was stinky so she took it out to the outside dogs in the garage and got me a new clean one. Actually she got me two. One she got on sale at Christmas and knew it was going to be too little. So now she got me a bigger one and put them both together so I have plenty of room. Now I just have to keep Sophie from chewing on the zipper and tearing it up.

Big bone

Found a really big bone outside today. It was one Mom gave to the outside dogs to keep them busy. I think one might have tried to bury it and I found it. Instead of following Mom and the others down to the creek I stayed up at the house and chewed on that bone. Then later I brought it up to the house yard and went back after supper and chewed on it some more. My toofies should be gleaming now!

I've been helping Lex hunt rats and mice out around the barns. We got one yesterday and one today. Sadly we let a mousie get away yesterday but we'll get him next time. Grrrr. Don't likes to let one slip away like dat.

The ratties are all getting fat and lazy for winter. We'll show dem to stay out of da chickies corn. What would Moma do without us for rodent control. Moma calls us her rodenticide.

Sign to Ratties. NO RODENTS ALLOWED!

Hunting lessons

I've been elected to give Soph her first hunting lessons. For a puggy that aspires to slay dragons, she has a long way to go. All she wants to do is run and jump around while I do all the real work. I tried to get her to dig for underground varmies but she just danced around the edge of the hole and acted like we were playing. Playing! Can you imagine. Hunting is serious business and the sooner she learns that the better. So far all she has accomplished is getting in the way and scaring off any varmies that I was getting close to. I can see this is going to take some real time and effort on my part, like I don't have enough to do already with baby sitting her in the house for Mom and sleeping by, whoops, I mean guarding the front door. A big sisfurs work is never done.

My Window

I love my window. As you can see most of my pics are in front of my window where my big doggie bed is. I'm such a nice doggie that I don't mind sharing my bed and window spot with furiends as long as they is nice and don't bother me while I'm sleeping. Of course that rules out lil sis Soph as she doesn't know the meaning of the words 'not bother'

Some of the reasons I love my window are :

I can rest my chin on the sill and look out.
I can lay on my bed and still look out.
I can be sleeping and just open an eye and still see out.
Because of my view I can watch the driveway and tell if someone comes.
I can see varmints (especially armadillos) if they come into the yard at night.
I can see deer if they are in the pasture on the other side of the driveway.

I thinks all doggies should have a wonderful window like mine.

Cooler and stormy.

I was complaining about the heat, now it is the storms. I really, really hate thunder...but at least things have cooled off a little. It was even nice enough that I went out and chased varmints with Lex and Fuzz when things cleared off. Now I can hear it rumbling again so I might have to retreat back into the house. If it's not one thing it's another. It's enough to make an old dog want to curl up and sleep. Yawn. Hopefully Soph won't find me.

Irritating things.

The two most irritating things...hot humid weather and over energized biting little sisters. Whew! I'm worn out. Soph is driving me and brother Spike bonkers. She has way too much energy for something so small. Mom tries to save us all she can and sometimes makes Soph take a time out in the bathroom or her cage, but we are still taking a beating. I can't wait for a little cooler weather so we can spend more time outside and Soph can burn some energy running around out there more. Hmm...wonder if Mom would consider a treadmill. I think I'll tell her it would be great for her to get exercise and also let the little one burn some extra pug pup energy too.
