Arrival Story:
I work for a veterinary hospital, we have a siberian husky breeder as a client. We had been seeing Kapuga since she was young and I always said "thats the mother of my next dog". In 2002 Kapuga was bred and I didn't want to wait any longer, my older siberian wasn't getting any younger and I wanted him to enjoy the new baby. So I brought Mina home. Sadly, the next year, Kapuga died of a rare autoimmune disease- she was still young, and it was too soon for her to go. I was so glad and lucky to have a pup from her.
Bio:
My Mina is such a sweet petite little thing- and she bounds around with endless energy! She acts like a cat a lot of the time- walking on the back of the furniture and climbing just about anything. She also is quite adept at springing into the air all four feet at the same time- and prancing around gazelle-like.
But, despite her pretty princess looks- she has NO problem getting down and dirty with the big dogs- infact, she is more likely to splash and dig around in a mud puddle than her brother is! She wrestles and plays with her cousin, Perrin (who outweighs her by 100 lbs!) and has survived being pinned on the couch by the huge great dane more than once- then she pins him right back- and that is a sight :). Mina does have a touch of an anxiety disorder and gets really freaked out when she hears dogs barking- especially Perrin's deep rumbling bark- she'll practically climb the walls. But that is the only thing I can "complain" about- and it isn't even a complaint! She's a great dog- and helped me a lot when Sundance died.
I retired her from the show ring so we can both concentrate on her being a great house pet- and haven't regretted a thing. I wouldn't trade this beautiful girl for the world.

It snowed again last night! another 3 inches... just when i was about to get all depressed thinking winter was over... almost all the snow melted and i was reduced to rubbing on this old, crusty, dirty pile of snow from the plowed area... then within the past 2 weeks... more snow! fresh and beautiful and sparkly and fluffy... 4 inches last week and 3 inches this time and Mom says the weatherman says there's going to be more next week! yippeeeee! roo-ooo-ooooooo! i'm so happy!

Holy cow! Mom just told me that i'm allergic to cats! She took some blood from me the other day to see why i rub my face and scratch myself so much- she figured i would have some kind of food allergies but when the results came in this weekend she learned that not only am i allergic to beef, milk, rabbit and venison- also a few weeds and grasses- the BIG news is that i'm allergic to dust mites, storage mites, mold mites, flea saliva and CAT dander! I knew those cats were no good! Mom says she is going to get an air purifier thingy that helps clean the air of the stuff that bothers me so much- keep the house cleaner- make sure i get my Advantix every month to protect me from fleas- and get me allergy shots to help with the pollens and cat dander... who knew that dogs could be allergic to cats??? What a wierd world.

Last night was the first snow of the year! Rooo-ooooo! I'm so excited! My mom had some water in her eyes as she watched me roll and play... sure it was only a coating but it's still snow! I did my usual lick, taste, roll, and run around like a crazy-dog when I saw it morning. Mom said it makes her happy to see me so happy :) I love the snow!
